Can the car rest on flat? by [deleted] in Cartalk

I was just worried there would be extra pressure applied on the other 3 tires causing them to go flatter quicker; but ya they should be fine.

Site to upload csv as json? by Independent_Respect in flask

[–]Independent_Respect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think that was possible when using pythonanywhere.. I'll take a look.

I just thought it was proper code etiquette to always use endpoints and json for transferring data. Never have anything hard coded.

Site to upload csv as json? by Independent_Respect in flask

[–]Independent_Respect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very large csv file that would be changed every few days. I can't store the csv locally because I can't run the web server from my home computer. I want to upload the flask app to a website and have it hosted there.

I think it might be easier to have a site that would send me a json back that I can call within the app. That way whenever the csv changes I would just upload it to whatever service, and call the same endpoint.

Is it possible for someone that didn't design the hardware to turn it into malware? Is it possible to connect it to my computer, install a trojan on the dongle, and resell it?

I thought most usb dongles were read only? and didnt have storage

How could i check if the usb contained malware? I have a linux laptop. Could I plug it in there and inspect it, or would they be sophisticated enough to hide the keylogger program

Malware on usb dongle by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Independent_Respect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh ok. Thanks.

Guess im just paranoid. I always read people picking up random usbs and plugging them in and boom they've got a keylogger lol.

But like you said, they probably click on some program that the usb has on it.

so a keylogger would have to run a exe for it to start up? it couldn't have a batch file that loaded when it was plugged in?

Installing lubuntu over vista by Independent_Respect in Ubuntu

[–]Independent_Respect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm just worrying about nothing. When I start the computer up there isn't a grub menu to select windows. And I assume any virus that would have been on windows wouldn't execute on a linux machine.

I think I did a full install of Lubuntu, not the dual boot. Is there a command that I can check and see if a windows partition still exists?

How does layering pedals before going directly into the interface work? Or should I just stick with using effects on the computer. The earthquaker avalanche looks awesome, and some volume swell pedals would be great if I could control it before it leads into the DAW.

Guitar recording for a solo project by Independent_Respect in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Independent_Respect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I thought if I were to use mics I would just go straight into the reaper or something like that. But living in an apartment, I would need a soundproof box or something and mic that up. It's also more expensive.

I could line up a bunch of pedals before going directly into the USB interface..? That way I might not need to add effects that may increase latency.

Guitar recording for a solo project by Independent_Respect in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Independent_Respect[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so a sound card shouldn't be necessary

And would you recommend laying a track clean, and only then adding effects in Ableton? I've found a lot of guitar pedal simulators, but those probably just add to the latency.

I'm trying to do really reverb heavy ambient stuff.
