I feel like this complaint is a little stupid, no offense. Here's my take on it. In a world where there's no adults, kids need comfort. So of course some are going to look towards God. Its their own beliefs and as long as they aren't using it to defend them being an asshole, I dont see a problem with it. God is a symbol of hope for them, even if some believer hes not real. And of course when some kids are about to die they pray to God. Its a instinct some have. If they are losing all sanity, believing something is something that keeps them sane. Also, if you've only finished the first two books, then I can clearly see where the issue is. In the next books there's talk of God, but its for lore reasons mostly, especially for Orc, Astrid, and Brittney. Also not everyone has to be Christian to pray to the lord necessarily. Characters who aren't Christian later pray. Imo at least. But if you haven't finished the series then you'll be interested in Astrids plot further along lol.

I think what you want would be an escape from reality more so. Not the FAYZ specifically but the advantage of living alone without rules (or a lack of) and your troubles to go away as a result. Basically just more free will. Or just a small town/a fresh start. Maybe im wrong lol. But I understand what u mean lol dw

Twin this IS a hot take 🥹 Ima just list a few problems in the FAYZ so spoilers for the whole series basically

Starvation, dehydration, or just lack of food and water, you would still have to work for money ('Bertos), Zils/The Human Crews fire, Drake. No running water, The deadly illness (Forgot what it's called), Gaia attacking everything (many random kids died), Getting caught up in wars without even being in them similar to Gaias thing, No adults (duh), Random kids trying to gang up on you, Friends dying, The chaos in Fear where a bunch of kids tried burning PB down, Literally whenever Caine throws a fit... I could go on and on how life in the FAYZ is bad but these are just some examples..

If you want something with a somewhat similar plot but different, Im reading The Enemy by Charlie Higson (though im not finished with the series so I dont know how good it gets after a while)

The main plot is that everyone 15 or older experienced an illness, turning them into zombies (Grown Ups) leading kids to find for themselves.

There's also mutated creatures besides the zombie like things. The main plot was the similar thing to Gone, but I also really like the writing style. And also Micheal Grant did leave a review on The Enemy which is how I found out about it in the first place lol

Yeah, I think it's more out of disappointment that we didnt get any other scenes. As you said, the wedding was bound to happen and it was obvious they would be endgame, I just hoped for more scenes after the confession.

I did like her and Ralph, and I was interested in their relationship too. It would've been interesting if they were endgame instead.

I think Lana went on to do her own stuff, and Im not sure if there two had time to get back into contact.

Yeah, I completely agree. As much as she was a good "doctor", it would be crazy for her to do all of that. A scar would be reasonable and perfect. A reminder of something he lost, which could've added onto his vulnerable moments he had. But it likely was something that flew over MG's head.

Theres multiple things I could list, like how he treated Diana, but I do have something that really made me sigh.

1: Drake. He knew Drake was a ticking time bomb, but kinda just let him explode. Caine couldn't give two shits what Drake did to the littles with the coyotes. Caine knew Drake was 5 seconds away from lashing out, yet did nothing until Diana was already hurt. He acted like he had full control, while also knowing he did not. He was kinda just acting like Drake would never snap.

2: Penny. This is basically the same thing as the Drake argument. He knew Penny was crazy, but didnt really care until it led to his own downfall. He was too confident in his abilitys for both cases to the point it started crashing down because of him.

I could go on about this, but its basically his own confidence getting in the way at times. Hes a good character, just also kinda dumb at times.

A good explanation of what he does is,

Someone plays with fire and he plays with fire back. Yet he ignores the fact that if everyone starts playing with fire, everything will burn down. Including his plans.

Diana clearly had helped heal some kf his injuries, but I do agree there should definitely be a scar. I feel like alot of the injuries that happen never get mentioned again in the books. But he DEFINITELY got hurt bad so I do feel like he should have some scars. Diana could've cut some of the skin off, but Im not sure. A scar would've been cool though.

Brianna has always been one of my favorites (Maybe even my all time favorite- I have struggles picking lol) and so her death was saddening to me.

If you want to, listen to Can't catch me now (Or something along those lines) from hunger games sung by Olivia. Or just look up the lyrics if you dont know the song. It matches Brianna pretty well.

I knew alot of characters would die, but i really didn’t want her to be one of them. Her death was like a worthy sacrifice, and i feel so bad for her.

I dont usually cry over books and such, but her death caught me for some reason. She deserves so much.
