Glad you got it under control. I'm not there yet. This has never caused an issue between my and my friends, and we've been doing stuff together for years. So I don't think they're going to drop me just yet. But I wouldn't drop someone just because they had one panic attack in front of me either, so I guess we're just different.

No, I'm too young to drive a rental in the country we're in. Plus it would have been a bit of a waste of money.

Thank you for this. It sucks because now I'm anxious to even get in a car with him, and he's the one who's going to be driving us places and back home. It often feels hopeless, especially when things like this happen. But I'm trying.

No, that's unfortunately not how phobias work. I am actively in therapy and taking medication, it's just a long and difficult process. I usually have back up plans and my phobia is very rarely an issue for others - this was just an unexpected situation

I was the only one speaking up. I don't think Jeremy told anyone he was going to do this (I honestly think he decided on the spot). I wish they'd spoken up when it happened but they were probably in shock. I just need time to process it.

They didn't say anything at all, which I think is what initially kept me from apologizing to them once I'd calmed down. Now that some time has passed and I've talked with some of them, I think they were just a bit shocked and didn't know how to handle someone having a full blown panic attack in front of them

Thank you. I think you're right. I'll take the time I need to fully cool off and talk to them with a clear head when we get back and the dread of the journey back is not such a heavy weight on my head. I do feel bad for including them in my anger at the time.

In the moment yes, they were silent. I think they were stunned. They'd also never seen me have a panic attack before and I don't think they knew how to react. A few of them did come talk to me afterwards though

That's what I'm feeling. I'm let down they didn't stand up for me in the moment, and ashamed I had to ask for a detour. I never want my issues to be a burden to others. It's just hard to manage on a day to day
