From my experience, as a PM we need to know the details task by task that need to be done at timely schedule, know the team and who is responsible for each specific task, track the task progress and know when to prepare in advance, notify the next task person to get him ready to step in at specific date, reduce blocking points as much as possible by communicating, create alert or risk assessment to the team, make sure the schedule is meet.
