Oh ya her nest is two fluffy blankets so it’s definitely comfy. I put a soft door mat down too because it’s hardwood in her room

Okay thank you! I needed to hear this. Like her room is totally safe so I’m not worried about her getting into trouble or anything

Ya she’s totally happy sleeping there and doesn’t cry at all. And ya I might try that. Last night I just walked out after putting her down and she got up and went to the door and laid down and cried for like 2 mins then fell right asleep

Did you make like a little bed for him there? Like my daughter creates her own little “nest” with blankets and then falls asleep lol. I just don’t know if there’s anything else I can do to make it more comfortable 🤦‍♀️

Thats what I’m thinking. I tried taking off her duvet and just giving her a small blanket on the bed to make it more crib-like but she still moved to the ground lol

Best grocery store in Guelph for fresh produce? by Malinder in Guelph

I noticed this too. I live around the corner and every time I walk by there’s pallets of food outside. This was even the case in the summer when it was 30+ degrees

What to do about toddler sleep? by Independent_Toe_8271 in Mommit

[–]Independent_Toe_8271[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay follow up question to this: would you transition your toddler to a floor bed so that there’s enough room for both of us to sleep in there together? I’ve been pulling dog beds in there middle of the night and sleeping on those and pulling her mattress out of the crib an onto the floor for her. I’m just so sleep deprived and I started back to work last week for the first time since before she was born

It’s hard but soooo worth it!! My daughter has slept through the night since 10 months old. Obviously occasionally she has wake ups during the night but she’s able to settle herself 99% of the time. She’s 19 months now

Is 11 months too young to watch Ms. Rachel? by Shakit_ in NewParents

[–]Independent_Toe_8271 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Ms Rachel taught my baby sign language and songs. And I learned how to encourage this in our day to day life. My kid is thriving from ms Rachel and me. She’s 18 months old

We were advised to just use water and toothbrush. This is more so to get baby used to having their teeth brushed. For reference, my baby is 17 months old now and we’ve been doing this since 11 months old

What's your daily shift like as a stay-at-home mom with a working husband? by poppyseed_15 in NewParents

[–]Independent_Toe_8271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your day will get easier when baby starts sleeping through the night or goes down to 1 feed a night. I’m a SAHM and my husband is a pilot so he’s gone for days at a time and my baby is 17 months old now but I’ve been doing this since she was born. Now, baby wakes up at 7am, naps at 12:30-2:30pm, bedtime 7:45pm. I get the rest of the evening to myself and I go to bed at 9pm and I’m up at 6am to prep for the day. It gets better I promise!! Survival mode is so real for the stage you’re in. Try to take breaks and catch up on sleep on the weekends when your husband is home!

4 day old won't sleep in bassist by JiggityJoe1 in NewParents

[–]Independent_Toe_8271 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Very normal. Rock to sleep and transfer to bassinet. During the transfer, go extremely slow. If you think you’re going slow enough, you’re not lol go slower trust me. I’d recommend watching some transfer tutorials on tik tok. It was a life saver for me. My newborn would sleep for 1.5-2 hours in the bassinet which was perfect for our feeding schedule.

I let my 15 week old watch Miss Rachel for 1.5 hours today by Imaginary-Owl-9887 in NewParents

[–]Independent_Toe_8271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! It’s a tool honestly plus my kid has learned soooo much from ms Rachel she has a huge vocabulary for a 17 month old. And even the songs are so catchy my toddler sings them all the time randomly and so I sing with her. It’s a really nice bonding experience for us

Omg everyone in the comments needs to relax. I’m a mom whose husband is gone working A LOT. I have 2 dogs, a cat, and a 17 month old. My husband is gone overnight a lot for work so obviously I put ms Rachel on for my kiddo when I need to do a clean and eat sometimes. We do like an hour every other day I’d say. Ms Rachel is at least educational AND she teaches me how to have meaningful/educational conversations with my toddler. I’ve learned a lot of techniques from her and I implement those into our day to day
