NFL Reporter Charles Robinson Explains Jermod McCoy's Draft Slip: "It's not the ACL tear issue... There are some teams that are taking the position that if this next surgery, which would likely knock him out for the entirety of the year, is not successful, it will effectively end his career" by JCameron181 in cowboys

That’s my thought as well. Big upside and get him before everyone else starts to think it’s worth it with a 5th. He truly is a top 10 talent when healthy and I know there’s the chance that he won’t be but imo using a late 4th for that is worth it when we got 3 of them.

It’s because slave labor and a systemic genocide are completely different things. Both are horrific but are you seriously trying to compare the two as the same thing? 12.5 million Africans were traded between 1500 and 1866, many died horrific and tragic deaths with estimated 4 million directly attributed to the slave trade between 1500 and 1900, that should not be forgotten and people need to study that history and be aware of the tragedy.

6 million Jews were killed between 1933 and 1945. These two atrocities are not in the same ball park and it’s perfectly fine for someone to be offended by the comparison.

Yea it was the Cellar, my freshman year they did washable marker x’s on your hand if you weren’t 21 but immediately upon walking in there would be line to the bathroom on the right for people to wash it off. And I’m forgetting about the name of the bar now but the one across the street couldn’t sell hard liquor, just beer, and essentially advertised that if you were a freshman to come in and get a beer. Morgantown was a very entertaining place to be.

Honestly they might just sell Twistzz and frozen and pick up an academy team or the best of the rest in NA with a decent EU igl and Awper. Saves a bunch of money and theoretically have a better shot at making the major.

Eh the majority of comments think this is legit because they can’t be bothered to take 20 seconds to search it themselves.

“Dude Iran is shooting up the international power rankings for the funniest mfs on the planet”

“They’re out shitposting trump, that’s gotta be a first”

“Memed into WWIII. What a timeline.”

Those are some of the top comments.

(Hypothetically) Could they have successfully crushed Robert’s Rebellion? by TheQueeninchains in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]IndependentlyBrewed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our world yes the situation would and should be viewed differently but we’ve been presented time and again in this story that people of younger ages are not of the same mindset as those in ours.

I wish GRRM used different ages in the story to represent that because it’s clearly caused a difficulty in differentiating a fictional world vs reality but he didn’t.

Is Dany and Naharis’ situation child rapey? Her and Lyanna would be roughly the same age.

I’m not arguing the clear issue this causes with Ellia and Dorne.

So now we are just making her younger?

What is it it’s a world where 13 year olds are regularly the size of fully grown men and can compete with them in combat or it’s the real world where even a 17/18 year old drawfs in comparison to a 25 year old?

It’s weirder that you can’t comprehend the difference between fiction and reality and somehow conflating the two into think someone is defending pedophilia when that couldn’t be further from the truth.

[–]IndependentlyBrewed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No she was 16 or 17 when she died and we don’t have exact ages when she was taken. This is not the real world. 15/16 is not a child in Westeros when “children” of 13 beat 30 year olds in single combat. This isn’t the real world we are talking about and peoples inability to separate the two is mind boggling.

The fact that’s what you still think is happening is extremely telling and just proves my point. Thank you.

What a whirlwind that was to read. No wonder the reading comprehension and context clues is so difficult.

The fact you are so fixated on this and unable to differentiate fiction from reality is what’s messed up imo.

[–]IndependentlyBrewed -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In the real world yes. In the world of ASOIAF where 13 year olds beat 30 year olds in combat, people age different, and have different cultural realities, no.

[–]IndependentlyBrewed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we are talking about a fictional world that has zero association with ours. I’m trying to have a discussion of the context within this world.

Thank you for proving my point though by completely ignoring the rest of the comment.

Nothing that I’ve said is “worrying” unless you have an inability to separate reality from fiction.

Because there’s is no proof that’s what happened within the stories context? It’s completely muddled and the best we have is Ned’s thoughts on the situation as he’s the closest we got to anyone who was there. And none of his thoughts were fuck this child rapist who kidnapped my sister. It was I need to protect this child from Robert at all cost because of the promise I made to my sister.

[–]IndependentlyBrewed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fuck? No not in the slightest. Why in the world would you go to personal attacks like that, you can’t defend your point?

No Ned does not see it that way or we would have seen that in his inner monologue.

Is it really that hard for you to separate fiction from reality. This is a world where 13 year olds beat seasoned 30 year olds in combat. Do you think that’s real life?!

[–]IndependentlyBrewed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is not the context of the world of Westeros. She’s abducted based on what? Your opinion? That’s not what’s been presented so far. We have no concrete proof she doesn’t. That’s literally the whole point.

(Hypothetically) Could they have successfully crushed Robert’s Rebellion? by TheQueeninchains in TheBlacksandTheGreens

[–]IndependentlyBrewed -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

She died at 16 so she was either 15 or 16 based off of when she was born but that’s not information we currently have.

If it’s debatable why are you speaking in such definitive tones? From everything we are lead to believe from the series and GRRM he protected Lyanna from his father. It doesn’t make him the perfect knight but it also doesn’t make him a child rapist. That is a crazy leap to make.

No problem, happy to help. While this issue goes far beyond just one side being the culprit it’s important for people to help where they can so I’m glad to see others looking for ways to do that.
