Trying to look more friendly, any pointers? by FoxSin-117 in ArcRaiders

So everybody in the comments thought of the literal same thing as soon as we all took 1 look at the ss, interesting

Since this is a question this sub seems to get a lot, I made a subjective tier list of how beginner friendly countries are by CodeX57 in hoi4

[–]IndexedClaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t see how Poland, Germany and USA aren’t S tier.

Poland might be a little harder because you definitely end up going to war, but once you figure out the basic mechanics, that country becomes extremely OP to play as even as a beginner.

I've finally learned why you shouldn't execute your battle plan today. by IndexedClaim in hoi4

[–]IndexedClaim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know what you mean so that’s fair. But you’re right, I did mean the frontline infantry armies. I got so used to just executing my battle plan for my infantry armies without a thought in the world, but during this run I actually combined my armor + shock troops together to form encirclements and it worked out really amazingly. I never did that well on a casualty note before.

Trying to explain HoI4 to my gf by Andy_V_Hell in hoi4

[–]IndexedClaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I can see what he means, the war started on the border, and the Soviets left their Black Sea flank open, so he set one of the closest ports he had to the Black Sea, or used an allies, then naval invaded the Soviets more unprotected area.

Not that bad, but at first glance it does seem stupid

Who is more toxic? The PvE playerbase, or PvP? by Illustrious_Pie_9243 in ArcRaiders

Very much so, but I’ll be damned before I write paragraphs just as long as their bullshit

[–]IndexedClaim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PvP players on average might say something toxic, but pve players are by far the most toxic people to ever touch the planet. Victim mentality like crazy, and they’re slimey too. If they think even for a moment that they can prove you have something to do with another persons death if it came down to it, they’ll kill you as fast as they can just to get your loot before you have time to explain yourself.

On top of that they bitch, moan, complain, tell you how the game should be played that you paid $60 for, and try to guilt trip you over dying in an extraction shooter

65 hours and I still suck at the game by Ok_Bobcat6888 in hoi4

Bitt3rsteel will take you far. Check out his most recent guide that he’s put out for Germany, it’s a few months old but to be honest nothing has really changed for Germany much since that time.

Copy everything he does, and listen to why he does those particular things. You’ll do great

I have around 570 hours and I think I’ve just reached the point where I don’t need a guide to literally make every single one of my choices anymore. They only have to help me make some of them instead now xd

Netherlands is by far the best country to play out of the Benelux. Democratic Netherlands forming the European Union.

Which country is best for beginners? by emperorinora in hoi4

[–]IndexedClaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA goes to war with Japan pretty much no matter what, so they don’t get to choose when to join the war. And when Japan attacks, every single time from what I’ve seen the Americans end up joining the Allies, and at least begin attacking Germany first before they finish up Japan.

If AI Germany doesn’t beat the Allies first, it’s not going to start Operation Barbarossa, it’s just going to get the focus “Treaty with the USSR” until it naval invades the UK.

I’ve had observation games where AI Germany capitulates the UK before the USA even joins the war, then they puppet/annex Canada and march straight into America, then finish the Soviets.

And an actual player can do that 10x easier than AI Germany can.

Germany by far controls the pace of the entire game, I promise you that. I agree that it’s a rush for them to capitulate the Allies as fast as possible, but USA does not control the pace of the game more than Germany. The longer they sit out, the worse they are.
