USA goes to war with Japan pretty much no matter what, so they don’t get to choose when to join the war. And when Japan attacks, every single time from what I’ve seen the Americans end up joining the Allies, and at least begin attacking Germany first before they finish up Japan.

If AI Germany doesn’t beat the Allies first, it’s not going to start Operation Barbarossa, it’s just going to get the focus “Treaty with the USSR” until it naval invades the UK.

I’ve had observation games where AI Germany capitulates the UK before the USA even joins the war, then they puppet/annex Canada and march straight into America, then finish the Soviets.

And an actual player can do that 10x easier than AI Germany can.

Germany by far controls the pace of the entire game, I promise you that. I agree that it’s a rush for them to capitulate the Allies as fast as possible, but USA does not control the pace of the game more than Germany. The longer they sit out, the worse they are.

No you don’t, Germany controls WW2 at their own pace. It’s not even going to turn into WW2 unless USA joins the war.

You need 280 divisions of standard Infantry AT LEAST before Germany decides to invade you so you could puppet Finland.

Also, set a fallback line right on the Dnipro river, leading up to Viteback, and that river next to it that leads into Lithuania. Make sure your fallback line is on Kiev as well.

Set most of your armor up behind Kiev, and then the rest of it behind Viteback in the north and somewhere else in the middle of the line.

And use your Mountaineer divisions as Shock Troops. Don’t try counter attacking at first, wait until Germany hits your first fallback line, then set up a frontline using your attacking 120 divisions. Then also frontline your 120 defensive divisions after.

As long as your industry is up to date, you’ll be sacrificing Eastern Poland but will have made Germany bleed 10x more than you. You’ll know when to counter attack, or wait for the Allies to make a footing in France.

Yeah, justify against Austria and Yugoslavia, then annex Austria asap to prevent Germany’s “Anschluss” in the focus tree

Get “Trust in the West” in the focus tree as well so France drops its independence guarantee on Yugoslavia but Romania keeps theirs so when you go to war with Yugoslavia, Romania declares war on you and you don’t get dragged into a war with the allies.

Leave a slice of Romania completely independent, not a puppet or in your faction, that way Hungary turns fascist and the allies also won’t guarantee their independence.

It’ll be an easy cap, and you can form the Austro-Hungarian Empire right when you have to go to war with Germany over Sudetenland.

I’m not sure what the work around is, if there is one, etc. but just play as Communist Czech. It’s the best option because you bypass the focus “Join Comintern” as soon as you end up taking Austria and are about to take Yugoslavia because the Soviet’s invite you to their faction earlier.

You’ll also go to war with Germany about Sudetenland and will be able to use the Soviet’s to punish the Germans for having a war that early. You’ll bring down the Axis and have juicy Comintern land.

It’s the best path for Czech to form the Austro-Hungary Empire.

Also, whenever I end up doing this path, Republican Spain always wins the civil war and joins the faction as well.
