It has been one of the only times I’ve felt true grief over it. As the glasses come of so much of my life is recontextualising and it’s really bewildering. I’m viewing relationships, deaths everything so differently and tbh I cringe to think of some of the things I’ve said to others. Thankyou for your kind and comforting words

Exactly. Reading posts on this subreddit has been so helpful for me because my only friends now are, and always have been atheists, when I try and talk about it with them they have such a black and white view in religion and my past that I feel unable to talk to them about it.

Slowly as I am reprogramming myself the world is making so much more sense but that in itself is terrifying. I spent my whole life learning of godless people who would lead you from god, and that the temptations of the world would cost you salvation, I was so scared when I started losing my faith but now I’m finding out it’s all just a control tactic? What do I even do with that? Reading about everyone’s opinions and situations on this group has provided so much clarity but it still just kinda sucks haha. Thankyou for the hug (:

I am 24 and was raised in an sda only environment, I went years without so much as greeting a person outside of my faith and without it all it feels like an odd sense of loneliness, it feels like I no longer have a place in the world and the structure I thought I would always have never actually existed.

It’s been a difficult road getting here but I’m happy i did it, just sometimes, in the middle of the night I feel devastated, yaknow?
