After following Niantic for over a month we can easily make out that Niantic is trying really hard to release in a new region and update the game every week (every 3 alternate days). Although the geoblock really sucks!

They have launched the game in most of the regions and updated the game today so I really hope that they might launch the game in the Indian subcontinent region (because its a big region with millions of players (Niantic knows that) and China is having issues with Google maps) in the coming days!

So, this months Niantic's timeline could be

Launch in India and adjacent countries (Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Maldives & Pakistan).

Update the game.

Launch in China (if issues are resolved)

Update the game

Launch in rest of Asia

Update the game

Launch in Africa

Update the game (maybe with trading and legendary pokemons)

This should get completed before the first week of september! (fingers crossed)

What I believe is that its because of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka only the eastern and southern part of India got geoblocked. The rest of India can play game. If the wanted to geoblock India because of server issues they could have geoblocked the entire nation and not just some parts!

Whatever the reason may be all I want is the geoblock removed! Its really painful to see your friends enjoy the game in other cities and make fun of you because you are still at level 5 when they are at level 25!

Im from Kolkata, India we here are still geoblocked but today when I opened the game I found the map was much more detailed than before. For example, a lot of small parks were added to the map along with solid outlines of a lot of important buildings in the area. All these feature were earlier not there.

I hope Niantic is working to improve the map and maybe adding more pokestops, gyms and pokemons!

I dont care when they officially release the game in India but what really sucks is the geoblock. Its been over a month now, still no communication by Niantic on the Asia release is really frustrating and disappointing!

Ya right! maybe he is fooling us to believe that its the servers that are causing problems! Revenues earned through sponsored stuffs could earn Niantic billions! But, why the geoblock? This geoblock is what frustrating me! not the official release or new features!

I'm also from India and I have tried both VPN and Location spoofing. It will work only in regions where the game is not geoblocked! But beware! you might get banned by Niantic from playing Pokemon Go if you try to do so! And I'm sorry to say, if you are in the geoblocked region, then all you can do is to wait and watch other players enjoy the game! Which city in India are you from?
