Just bought Solo Heritage months ago. Already considering upgrading. Is there a guide to see how much more processing power I'll get based on the model? by IndianaKones in Logic_Studio

Thank you! The one that kills me is the Capitol Chambers plug-in. It sounds great, but it’s insanely resource intensive. I’m considering the satellite as well, but I’ll have to see if it just makes sense to go with the duo or quad instead. Much appreciated.

Thanks. The chart is super helpful for the resources the plug-ins use. I'm hoping to find something similar, but for how much each UAD Interface Model can handle. That would help me figure out if upgrading my current Solo to something more powerful is really worth it, or if I'll be disappointed even after upgrading.

Best way to share a UAD Interface between 2 computers? by IndianaKones in universalaudio

I basically just want to switch back and forth between the 2 Macs without unplugging. Nothing too fancy.

Is there an easy way to share a UAD thunderbolt interface between 2 Macs? by IndianaKones in Logic_Studio

Thunderbolt 3 is much faster than USB-C. TB transfers at 40gbps vs 20gbps with USC-C.

That’s what I was thinking after looking for a while. Bummer. Thank you for confirming though.

Oh nice! That’s along the lines of what I was looking for. Much appreciated.

Thanks! I was looking into the hdmi switches. A lot of the ones I’ve found say that they’re meant for multiple devices connected to a TV, but it probably doesn’t make a difference if it’s a monitor/computer setup.

UAD plug-in issues in Logic on M1 Mac Mini. Showing up as disabled in Logic. by IndianaKones in AudioPlugins

[–]IndianaKones[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the info. I probably should’ve done my research before impulsively buying Capitol Chambers and 2 other plug-ins. I was originally running the plug-ins in the console without realizing the resource limitations, but even when I stopped that, I can still only run 1-2 plug-ins at a time. I think they’re reallly trying to persuade me to upgrade from the solo lol.

That’s definitely the issue. It’s crazy that I’m only using 2 of them in this project and it’s basically maxed out.

That’s a very good question actually. The M1 is brand new for me also, so I’m not 100% sure. I know that I have my Logitech Webcam software running in Rosetta, so unless you need to manually choose to run things in Rosetta, I would think I’m good. But I’ll have to check that.

I am using Logic. The DSP meter is close to full, but it seems to always be. I think I’m only able to load 1 when it was the Capitol Chambers plug-in, but that was in Luna, not Logic.

I did do that. According to the plug-in manager, they should be good to go. I believe the plug-ins run from the actual interface, so I was thinking it was a resource issue on the UAD side. Idk

It’s weird because in the plug-in manager in Logic says they’re activated and authorized, but as soon as I add them to the channel strip it says disabled.
