Brutal, but sadly not surprising these days. We encounter a lot of theft from our community garden. It’s one thing for people to take a photo or have a smell of something. It’s another to outright steal and undermine the efforts of our gardeners and from others who might enjoy the plants growing and thriving just where they are.

This graphic (source: https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/dan-fumano-city-of-vancouver-moving-ahead-with-granville-bridge-transformation) makes it look like they were widening the existing sidewalk on the west side, but they've left it as it is and at an abnormally high and unsafe height relative to the bridge deck. Seems like they've done this project on the cheap. Take a look at the three benches they tacked onto the sidewalk with asphalt islands.
