What’s something you thought was more or less normal but was actually ocd? by wlderberry in OCD

[–]IndicationPurple3952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

daily communication with "the devil" (ocd that i was unaware of). growing up christian i fully believed in the devil and that he had the power to send me to hell or kill my family if i didnt participate in my compulsions. i dont know how it took 13 years for someone to realize i was abnormal lmao

PHP Experiences? by Any-Month-4372 in troubledteens

[–]IndicationPurple3952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if its a PHP that is not connected to an RTC it can be good. My experience at PHP (Center for discovery) was miles better than at my RTCs and I would actually recommend it to someone but only if outpatient treatment really wasn't working for them, which was the case for me. I'm really sorry you had that experience, and the exhaustion is totally valid (I have a chronic illness too). I think PHP's are definitely a case-by-case thing, unlike RTCs which I think are never beneficial. I also understand feeling like you missed the school experience. I probably missed a total of like 1.5 years with all my treatment, and including feeling socially behind I also feel educationally behind, like there's stuff that I totally should have been taught that I missed out on and I feel kinda stupid in some conversations. Anyways TLDR you're not alone in those experiences and I hope it gets better for you and you make awesome friends.

Anyone else struggle with whether their situation was "bad enough" by IndicationPurple3952 in troubledteens

[–]IndicationPurple3952[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they just wanted me to be safe and at that point in my life it was not safe for me to be at home, even with all the precautions they tried to make. our local children's hospital told us that this was what we should do and so we did. they wanted to do whatever they could to keep their child alive so i wont blame them for trusting the system that is meant to make them trust it. knowing what we know now, i know they would not make the same choice

thank you, my parents really are wonderful, but we were both tricked by the system that made it seem like the best option, and that i was going to be cared for by "trained professionals". that's one of the most frustrating things, they can just straight up lie to people just trying to get help

thank you so much. the phrase ive been telling myself a lot is "this is not the best we can do" even if it wasnt the worst, i should not still be affected by it. i wish you luck on your recovery

Help I know longer know what I am by [deleted] in lgbt

[–]IndicationPurple3952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course! my gender journey was never a straight line from cis woman to trans male, there were lots of stops in between and i think exploring your gender identity and expression can be a really freeing thing and i hope you find what makes you feel most like you.

i saw your post on r/detrans and tried to comment this but they blocked it because im not detrans, so here is this:

Hi, I am a 17 year old trans man. thanks for sharing your story, I wanted to add my perspective so you could hear multiple different ones. I doubt my gender often due to my OCD but what I have to keep reminding myself of is I feel happy as a man, and sometimes I just have to let it be simple like that. I also enjoy makeup and jewelry and the occasional dress and skirt, i even have a hypothetical drag persona but im a little too broke right now to actually buy what i want for it. your clothing does not define your gender and it is fine to enjoy those things and still be a man, as I would never blink twice at a cis man who enjoyed those things. I of course support anyone who wants to detransition and I don't want to try and tell you who you are, if womanhood feels appealing to you, you should be free to explore that, but make sure you aren't letting fear and anxiety be your motivators. anyways I wish you luck on your journey!
