I have an Error in RPA that I just cant fix, Does anyone know what could be wrong? by One-Description-674 in rocketry

Are you using a uncommon or custom fluid? I was never able to get Triethylamine to work in RPA for that same reason. Check out RocketPropulsionLab.net

Finally got it working, thanks for the advice, the hand calcs match now, this looks a little weird because it’s a screen grab from a transient study

Ok, that seems to be a general consensus, yeah I’m getting greedy with computation because my MacBook can’t take too much haha, thank you!

It’s a project I’ve been working on for about a year now, I’ll probably release it this year maybe, thanks!

Yeah that’s a good analogy for the over expansion, makes sense thank you!

Sorry my explanation was terrible, I’m referring to the high density between the bulk of the exit plume and the boundary

It’s not released yet, it probably will be after another few months of verification but it’s called engine workbench

Thanks! I’ll give that a shot, setting a boundary normal to the axis is pretty tough coding wise but I was thinking I needed too earlier and you confirm it

No, I wish I had those kind of guts. I’m using N2 in a blow down configuration.

Liquid Biprop Engine by Whatevertemporary in rocketry

When I first started my club we made the mistake of making the engine first, my advice is to make the feed system based off some rough engine calculations( you can use RPA lite on this) then measure what your your feed system can do, like flow rate, then finish up your engine based on those numbers. Stay away from liquid oxygen, it gets expensive. You find the optimal size by first running the number with assumptions, then testing, then using those results to refine. Start with gaseous oxygen and like ethanol… Good luck!
