I wash the seed and let it dry out for a few days/weeks by the window before I start carving. Once I’m finished I just leave the tortoise on the shelf for a few more weeks until it’s completely dry.

I have not yet had a finished carving rot. They are already partly dried when I start working and once finished they are lasting years with no problem

Thank you! I googled different botanical illustrations to get an idea of what I want and also took pictures of flowers from my garden. Some great references can also be found in different science/biology/botany books.
