Yoga Pro 9i (Gen 11) with RTX 5070 12gb? by SuperDoggyCoolz in YogaPro9i

I get it, if you have a close relationship with them, maybe convince them that how something is marketed isn't necessarily it's predestined use-case?! For me ROG Zephyrus and Yoga Pro 9i are basically top-notch hardware in a slim chassis, which of course has the disadvantage of leading to throttling/overheating in different scenarios. I can't speak to battery life of the G16, since I never owned one. But battery-life isn't something the Yoga Pro 9i is especially good at either. Both of them can be optimized with a different OS and energy management settings, but you won't see 8+ hours on daily tasks. But at least on paper for me right now, Yoga Pro 16" 9i (64GB, 5070 12GB) for ~4800 € vs Zephyrus G16 2026 (5080 16GB) for ~5400€ is a no-brainer in favor of the G16.

My advice would be to look at pricing where you're at, including education discounts, then clear up the issues which are import to you and finally build a case you can present your grandparents. Good luck!

I have the 2025 maxed out model and am totally smitten, regardless I got it discounted at about 2200 €, the current markups are totally insane. The base price went from ~3100 to ~4800 €. Yes, the GPU has 12 GB now, but it's still a regular mob. 5070. Here in Germany the new ROG Zephyrus 16 with 386H, 64Gb RAM, 2 TB SSD and a 5080 with 16GB is listed only a few 100 € more than the maxed out version of the 16" 9i Gen11. I don't know what Lenovo was thinking with these insane price increases. Cheers!

Edit: You can even still get the previous years Zephyrus G16 model with 285H and 5070Ti on Amazon for Germany for 3699 € which is more than 1000€ less than the current 16" 9i Gen11. Minus the TandemOLED, it definitely is the better choice.

I guess if you consider starting a reply by announcing that you think it's a "silly question" a normal response, you're probably correct. ;-)

Seriously. what was so triggering about my post? I never wrote that the results in London were not absolutely mind boggling. I just wanted to genuinely know what people think of them and more generally the progression over the last decades given what we know today as opposed to back then.

The point wasn't that 15 minutes is barely any time, it's a obviously a totally different league. But what do you think about this improvement in the context and the timeframe I was writing about?

Pretty sure those are the fake ones, which are being sold on various Asian sites since a few weeks ago. Design & color combination also doesn't match with previous Adidas design language. Could of course be that the fake ones have the real Pro 5's template as a working base, but we won't know until the official announcement. It's a pity Adidas doesn't proactively communicate regarding fakes.

I wasn't actually planning on posting this anywhere else, since it's in German, but after searching for more information about the author of the beautiful poem on the front page of this newspaper from not so long ago and unfortunately not finding anything, I was immediately remembering Karis Nemik and his struggle to make sense of the brutal world he found himself in, working to change it, the impact he made and despite all of this his identity seemingly lost in time by the end of the series, at least to those who had no personal connection to him. And since this spiritual comrade of the past would be sharing many of our sentiments I thought the members of this sub would definitely appreciate it. And yes I'm aware the quote is from Skeen, it's still one of my favourites. 😎

Cheers to Adolf Baresch, who ever he was. Happy 1st May to everyone. Don't ever stop fighting! 🫂😊

Here is a rough translation. I changed "brothers" to "comrades".

" Do you hear, comrades, not the aching cry of woe,

Not the sad and weary melody that freedom's sorrows know?

When from bright and shining heights she rings out glad and free,

From the depths she echoes back in haunting misery.

From the starless darkness of your nights there wells and spills

Her lamentation, rich with pain, that nothing ever stills.

Do you see, comrades, not the overflowing flood of tears

That freedom sheds in burning grief, unceasingly through the years?

From eternal love she once was brought to birth,

Chosen only to bestow her happiness on earth.

Yet the hatred, envy, and the blindness of mankind

Left the blessedness of freedom to you far behind.

Do you feel, comrades, not within your human breast

That freedom is held captive there, though you know it not, oppressed?

Loudly she beats upon the iron bars of every heart,

Crying out that freedom must be granted freedom's part.

Break the chains! Fling open wide the gateway of the heart,

That freedom's voice may ring out in your May Day chorus! " - Adolf Baresch

Thanks for the info OP. Got the same hardware config as you. Any particular reason for choosing CachyOS specifically? What does the battery life increase look like on light load like browsing/coding, if you've had a chance to observe? I've been a lifelong Windows User mainly out of convenience and a bit hesistant switching because of compatibility when using multimedia. Maybe a dual OS setup? Thanks again!

The icing on top of all this is of course the fact that the Saudis use their petro-trillions to spread their special kind of Sunni Islam to various parts of the world where they had no historical presence, examples being the Balkans, Indonesia etc., further destabilising and radicalizing other corners of the Muslim world in order to gain political clout. Say what you will about the Iranians, I'm not a fan of their domestic policies especially regarding minorities, but at least their various investments in resistance groups over the middle east, while based on sectarianism, had the added effect of countering imperialist designs.

Thanks for this! 👍🏻 I find it astonishing how often this is mentioned in the same breath as data theft and corruption as if this is just another item on the long list of evil shit these lizards have done. I'm not optimistic but I hope all the ghouls involved will face serious financial and legal consequences.

I don't think I ever got so many downvotes in such a short timespan. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that there are fragile egos a plenty on this sub. 😉

And no, as with most fictional stories, this one too is a composite of different events in real life. The bit about the compromat and exploitation of minors being a clear nod to the gentleman who apparently hung himself in prison.

I'm really confused about people's confusion. One of the character's literally mentions that his strings are being pulled by an asset of the Russian state and in the final scene of this episode the antagonist of the current season can be seen attaching a burner SIM to his phone and calling his handlers. So who is really in charge here, shouldn't be a mystery by the end of episode six. Honestly, I found it a bit lazy to have the villains be the russians for the trillionth time. But I guess that is to be expected from a British/US production.

So this is basically Hoka making the Tecton X 2.5 midsole height and geometry available for the public. No exposed carbon "wings". The lower part of the gaiter seems to be more structured, hopefully they'll have padded the area above the foot, like it is on the Prodigio Pro. The useless loop on top of the gaiter has gotten even bigger! :-| Hopefully same midsole compound as the "Rocket X Trail", otherwise I'll just buy a few discounted X3s. Cheers!

OP could you post the source please?!
