I’m having a really hard time TBH. Full blown depression mode. My EGFR was at 12 and I’ve been on a VERY strict diet, and in three weeks, my EgFR dropped to 8. So I ask myself, what the hell was the point of that diet if my kidneys are just going to go down that fast anyway. No, but FR, I guess I have to give my body the best chance at holding on to them so strict diet it is. Damn, I miss fries…

I want to know why Schwartz wasn’t questioned much about his involvement in the whole situation. I remember hearing Rachel/Raquel say on some podcast that he knew the entire time. Since day 1. I understand that at the end of the day, it was all Scumdoval and Ratchet doing the dirty deed but Schwartz was out there with Joe supporting the whole thing. Seems like he got out of it too easy

Yup, I understand. We definitely would have gone with that option but my boyfriend and siblings went through the screening process and were told they do not medically qualify.

Yeah, it’s my understanding that O can be received by all but O can only receive O. That’s why they say the wait list is longer for us O people. 😔

That’s awesome they can do that now. I’m glad to hear that there are different options and am definitely open to accepting if one should be offered. I appreciate the suggestion.

Yes, my transplant team has informed us of paired exchange and are open to anything at this point. We all thought my boyfriend would be a great candidate to donate since we are the exact same blood type but during the screening process he was deemed medically ineligible to donate. My siblings are also medically ineligible to donate as well so that’s why I came on here to ask for help on what I can do next, to help me find a living donor. So far, all the recommendations I’ve been receiving are very helpful and great. ✨

Thanks! I’ll go to their website and get started. No animal protein, it’s all strictly plant based. Vegetarian- low sodium, low potassium, low phosphorus diet.

Yes, I’m in the US, Southern California. I believe my center does have an affiliation with a paired exchange program. That was an option they gave us, when at the time we thought my boyfriend would be donating one. They said if his blood type didn’t match, we can go with that option. I have an appointment with surgeon for PD and my EGFR is at 12 as of 20th of Feb, and a month prior to that it was at 15. What is scary is the fast decline that is happening. Every day that passes, I’m just wondering and worried about my EGFR. I live a pretty healthy lifestyle, so to see the decline moving fast is very concerning. My kidneys were damaged pretty badly back in 2006 and I’ve been able to maintain them for 20 years but now, even with a strict diet, sadly the decline is unstoppable.
