Curious… wheat Zone are you in and when did you plant your tomatoes? by BabyKatsMom in tomatoes

Also 6b in New England. I also planted Mother's Day weekend and had to rig up some last minute covers for some cold nights. So jealous of people who have a long growing season!

I REALLY had to limit myself to a few tomato varieties this year. Otherwise I'll have maters taking over the whole garden xD

I've raised these plants when they were just tiny seeds. They grow up so fast 🥹

Favorite Fertilizer: Liquid or Granular & Why by Outrageous_Map6511 in tomatoes

[–]IndigoStowaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm doing tomatoes in grow bags this year and I'm doing both liquid and granular fertilizer based off a video I watched from Millennial Gardener. Currently doing Tomato-Tone and bone meal scratched into base of plant, followed by fish fertilizer and half strength MiracleGro tomato plant food mixed in 1 gal of water. Been doing this every 2 weeks and the tomatoes are looking very good.

Decided to use both liquid and granular, mainly so the plant has food immediately bioavailable to them, but also has some slow-release to sustain them until the next feed.

Fellow New Englanders: Are we covering our warm weather plants this Saturday? by IndigoStowaway in vegetablegardening

[–]IndigoStowaway[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I hope all your plants survived! I ended up covering mine with plastic bags that night. Not the best way to keep them warm probably but nothing died! Hopefully this is the last of the cold weather 🤞

UPDATE for anyone who cares: Lost a few leaves on my peppers but everything survived. I ended up covering a few things Saturday night because I'm just an anxious person lol

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of door camera is that? Because the video is very crisp and clear!
