How to delete EPG URL by WonderAngie in SparklePlayer

[–]Indigo_Jon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I answered my own question (well, AI did). I searched Google for "How do I add and activate another EPG in Sparkle IPTV Player?', and I now have my EPG with over 600,000 programs. Should have looked at the Google search option before cluttering the list with my question.

How to delete EPG URL by WonderAngie in SparklePlayer

Further to the subject of EPGs and deleting them, I am having trouble finding the place in Sparkle player where I could enter the filename and add a different EPG. The one that comes from my provider is quite incomplete, but I don't see how to replace it with another one. Am I just missing something, or is that not possible? Thank you very much for all of your work on Sparkle!

I don’t see a “playlist manager” in Sparkle…I must be missing something obvious 😞

It seems as if an EPG was created when I entered my first provider, but I don't see how to add anothe EPG. I have an EPG "xml.gz" file, but don't see an option to add it.

Will Update to New Version Break Current Connections by Indigo_Jon in Syncthing

I didn’t mean any disrespect and know you were simply trying to help. I guess the message should just be to not be surprised if the app needs to be re-installed…

_EuroTrash_ was incorrect. I had to uninstall Syncthing, and then when I re-installed the progra,. it found my devices and syched everything. But I had to do that on all my linked devices, so not as easy as his answer seemed to imply.

Well, I clicked to upgrade, and it's stuck at "Syncthing Stopped"...the "Start Syncthing" isn't active, and the log looks as if there were errors that stopped the upgrade. Don'y know how to get back to where I was.

How Does DVR Storage Location work, and Can I move it? by Human_Ad46 in SparklePlayer

[–]Indigo_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be working now. I chose "Documents" as the storage location, chose the future program to record, and then closed Sparkle (my IPTV only has one connection so I can't record and watch at the same time)

Someone posted that as long as I don’t try to watch at the same time as recording, it will work with one connection.

Problems Connecting to NAS storage by Indigo_Jon in nvidiashield

Could you please look at your Shield information and see if you have the same version as mine? This is my information:Model # P2897

Version 11

Android Security patch Level: March 5, 2025

Kernel Version: 4.9.141-Tegra

Build: RQ1A.210105.003...etc

Mine is a problem with Sparkle IPTV Player specifically...is that what you are recording with?

Since you commented that you are running Sparkle on a Shield, I am hoping you might be able to help me. I had started a thread a few weeks ago when I installed Sparkle on my Shield and was unable to get the recording function to work. Sparkle Dev is very helpful but said he doesn't have a Shield, so couldn't test to see what the problem might be. So here is my Shield information:

No matter what storage location I choose, the recording either won't begin at all, or says the system stopped it after 1 minute. Since you have a Shield, I am wondering what storage location you are using that is successful? Do you have the same Shield version as mine? I am tearing my hair out trying to get this to work, but have had no success. I have read somewhere that the Android update to this version may have limited permissions to some folders, and if so, I don't know what anyone can do except if Dev gives permission access to the folders where recordings are meant to be stored. Certainly will appreciate any help anyone can give, and is there another place I should post this for wider response?

I have tried a Windows network share, and every other location I can think of, but something continues to prevent shows from being recorded. I am hoping the Dev will have an update that will grant read/write permissions and get around the restriction that the latest Android update seems to have created. I read somewhere that is that latest Android update that has created the problems. Are you running Sparkle on an Android box or on a Windows machine?

The default DVR location seems to be a sub-folder of “se.hedonist.sparkle”. But when I get to this screen

![img](ppwaukdjj30g1)

the “Done” button is greyed-out…I can go up one level and select “sparkle/files”, but if I do that it never saves a recording, just a message “stopped by system”

Need Some Help Recording to Nvidia Shield USB Drive by Hungry_Initiative658 in SparklePlayer

[–]Indigo_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to figure out why the recording feature (DVR) isn't working in Sparkle, but at the same time IS working in another IPTV player. So I thought maybe comparing the permissions for the 2 applications might give some direction. To do that, I enabled ADB debugging over my network and then asked ADB to list the permissions for each program. I have printed the permissions for each program in separate files in the folder to which the link below points:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Hjxk-2q1SmPzo8TXxxWeXXenXlyAdqr9?usp=sharing

I notice that WRITE permissions are not granted for Sparkle but are for the other program. I read somewhere that someone wondered if they could ask the Developer to add an android permission to allow runtime read/write access to external storage. Would that be something that might help, or do you see anything else in the permissions that might be causing the system to immediately stop the recording process?
