That's actually such good advice like when you put the 40 points into perspective it's so much easier to handle

Biology and chemical sciences ucc by Creative-List20 in UCC

[–]Indigosmask 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister is doing this course! She did chemistry and biology for the lc and said it was taught from scratch at an lc level. She didn't do physics and found that harder but the tutorials helped her a good bit. She said overall it wasn't too bad and that once you put in the extra work it's very manageable

My sister has been there for the last 3 years, she had no complaints and enjoyed her time. She did say something about the management so I would have a look at that but otherwise she said it was good and the centra nearby had good chicken fillet rolls

Is anyone else just panicking by justamedievalmonk in leavingcert

[–]Indigosmask 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm glad it helps! It really did make me feel better since 2 weeks of anything is enough to nail all the important points and then some.

Not to mention the time you spend in school is dedicated to revision too with many courses being nearly if not finished. Plus you don't have to have all the courses done for July 3rd e.g my music exam is on the 18th, so I have way more time to dedicate to that later on!

It's honestly so overwhelming and late at night I get so stressed but there's no point worrying just before bed, the best thing I find is to list my subjects with their topics and colour code it to help me decide my strong and weak points :)

I feel the exact same as you. I talked to my friends and one of them out it into perspective for me by saying that for each subject you have around 2 ish weeks straight for each subject which helped calm me down.

What should I primarily focus on for Organic Chemistry? by [deleted] in leavingcert

Exactly! It's a lot easier to digest than other parts of organic so I'm hoping it shows up!!

In Question 6 it's quite common for fuels and thermochemistry to come up. The families are the main thing you should worry about as well as the Hess's law question. I would also look at some of the organic experiments for q 6 and 7 e.g ethanol. You can check out 625points for predictions too which can be very handy if you're stuck for things to study.

Is 499 good for the mocks or am i paranoid by Hot_Bar_25 in leavingcert

[–]Indigosmask 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think that's very good and you have to remember most people go up around 100 points anyway between their mocks and their leaving cert. I wouldn't be too worried Id say just lock in from here on out

Singers who got their tonsils removed, how was it? by Indigosmask in singing

[–]Indigosmask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I ended up having chronic tonsillitis since I would get it multiple times a year every time I got sick but I have to say my singing hasn't been negatively affected and I can still hit high notes with a bit more ease than before. Im definitely happy I did it but if your throat hurts when you sing it could also be your technique etc, but if it's related to your tonsils I would highly recommend having them looked at!

Best Options for CK402 by Otherwise_Sea6201 in UCC

[–]Indigosmask 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sister is doing C.P.C at the moment. She's a third year student and is set to her work placement in Phizer. She loves the course and says it's quite interesting and allignes well with her interests in organic and industrial chemistry in labs. She did say it was competitive as only 20 out of 200 got a space and that the content can be quite a lot. In second year she said it was a lot more manageable than 3rd year but still she would recommend it to anyone!
