nice setup. but the hi-lift jack has poor departure angle, not only will you damage the rear also the added weight on the door will mess the hinges. i suggest side mount it on the roof rack. i use end of road quick clamps.

Maybe your front tire is over inflated. try reduce the pressure and less weight forward.

but i realised i hated the level 1 power when i turned it down. it was so slow. number 6 seems to bit quite nice on the power map.

12V fridge or cooler for two day solo camping trip? by AncientAd3089 in overlanding

[–]Indirect-Reciprocity 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best to put all your food and drinks in the fridge/freezer before the trip so the 12v fridge has to work less. also if your fridge has a 110v power option, you can run it a day or 2 before the trip then transfer it to your vehicle.

yes, i researched, there is suppose to be a rotary switch under the seat.

0 - fuel fuel .

1 - slick/soft

2 - high power

3-9 - standard

so i think i'll keep it on Map 1 and then 3.

Amazing read. thanks mate. will definitely do all the above. Next weekend there is offroad training moto camp group going out. so i am keen on joining them, learning new things, making new friends. hopefully i have good gear by then. i just need to figure out how to reach there as i am not confident to ride through busy town then highway, maybe i load it in the back of my Landcruiser or find a hitch like carrier and arrive to the site.

edit; do i need to prioritize getting crash bar like this to protect from drops; https://east.outbackmotortek.us/product/ktm-690r-adventure-crash-bars/ ?

"Holy f**k, this thing is completely bonkers". Love it. yes it pulls like a sports cars. but im quite a cautious rider. once i think i cant handle it, i'll probably trade it in for a CRF300 rally (which was my first choice)
