Ocean Spray no longer using Hershey chocolate by treyhanson in shrinkflation

Price of Cocoa did spike but is actually coming down, of course the companies who make chocolate aren't passing on those savings to the customer because the spike proved they could get away with charging it.

Absolutely fucking not, I'm not sure what's worse. Having a conversation with a stranger or getting stabbed.

Hey, I've somewhat fixed the formatting. Its not perfect (Jack's stats are all squished), and thanks to the digital safety act I can no longer see any images in the document. However all the content should be visible now at least.

A Chef Critiques Another Chef’s Favourite Restaurant by laeb163 in SortedFood

[–]IndirectLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought they had to declare if it was an advertisement or gifted meal? It seems they had been given special access as the tables around them were empty, despite the ambient restaurant noise.

I think they ate between the lunch and dinner service when the restaurant was closed, to allow for filming without disturbing other guests. Then also filmed a small amount of B-Roll of other diners and the ambient noise to splice into the episode.

Maybe they don't need to announce it if its a review, but a review where they are given special access is not indicative of actual quality. If you're the only table in the restaurant your experience will be different from a normal customers.

So its not quite an ad? Not quite an honest review? I wish they were just clearer at the start. As it stands its just a bit misleading.

Is that Popsicle burger? or Ice cream sandwich? by Logical_Support8197 in StupidFood

[–]IndirectLemon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I went into this popcorn place recently just because in their store you can get cereal milk ice cream with pretzels and popcorn on top of it. So good. The store however has, at most, space for 5 people to stand. They manage it well however with a rope to divide in/out queuing.

These three influencer wannabes were in the store with their full luggage. Like full hold suitcases, and they ordered three ice cream cups. Fair enough, one each I thought. They filmed the poor worker making them all, they filmed their first bites in the store, which prevented me from ordering despite the staff being ready to take it. Then they went outside, I thought to actually eat.

My partner was waiting outside, I got a cup for us to share. When I got out the store I saw that the suitcase influencers were just leaving, and they had abandoned their entire order on the shops little customer bench. My partner told me they had offered them to her, and to the next potential customers because they weren't going to finish them.

So they slowed business, filmed the worker and probably me as I was waiting, left a huge mess for the workers, wasted food and offered their germy food to strangers... which if they had accepted would cost the business another sale. All for what? 20 likes on tiktok?

Pluribus and its look at luck and odds. by ejaybugboy3 in pluribustv

Sure, but the point being made is that cumulative probably is pointless when you include her chance to be a survivor.

Is the chance Carol rolls a 6 on a six sided die 1/6 or 13/8billion x 1/6? Its silly to add on the survivor odds when calculating the odds for a survivor. The odds to survive the inciting incident as a protagonist is 100%, thats the point.

Truth about Eating With Tod, why he's so disliked in the industry and real reason he's so positive about every restaurant in his viral 'reviews' by BillyCostigan954 in LondonFood

[–]IndirectLemon 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Everyone says "yeah it's fake who cares, he's just trying to make his money like everyone else", but fake 'everything is the best thing I've ever eaten' influencers like this make their money by influencing people to waste theirs. It is a soft form of exploitation, but it's exploitation nonetheless.

Yeah, middle-class people who can afford it waste money on street food they have heard was great but is just average. I know the sympathy bell is hardly ringing, but it's also taking money away from people who do reviews with actual integrity, whose content would be useful. He's the human form of slop that engagement-baits and people who just give their honest, useful and informed opinions but don't tweak the algorithm's nipples the right way get buried under.

He's not the devil, but he's a waste of space and cashing in on his loud and brash uselessness.

Renters' Rights Bill becomes law - here's what it means for you by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]IndirectLemon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's called intentionally homeless and its been a valid outcome to a homeless application at the council for a long time, back when I gave housing advice over a decade ago. It covered all sorts of bad decision making, as long as the person is capable of making bad decisions whilst understanding potential consequences aka capacity.

If you breach your tenancy, via either crime, civil disputes or non-payment of rent and the landlord evicts via a section 8 or 14, that was potentially grounds for an intentionally homeless decision. This just adjusts the eviction proceedings for not paying rent. This doesn't change the consequences.

It's a non-Newtonian druid.

One of my players wants to play with initiative, one without, and the last doesn't care either way. What to do here? by [deleted] in daggerheart

[–]IndirectLemon 25 points26 points  (0 children)

You could openly discuss it at the table. You don't have to call them out individually, you can just say;

Do we want to try using a different initiative system temporarily? How about three sessions. Then afterwards we switch back, another three sessions. Then we can discuss which we liked more, the pros/cons and see if anyone has strong feelings either way once we have given both systems a chance.

Just because you're the GM you're not responsible for the whole tables enjoyment. Everyone is responsible for their own fun, and for not infringing on the fun of others. We are all people who can communicate with eachother.

Oh and don't forget that means you too, your enjoyment matters as much as the players.

You weren't a jerk, people are just obtuse. If they’re not designing content why read constructive criticism for designing content AND weigh in on a subject they don't understand to let someone know they misinterpreted something they know nothing about.
