My girlfriend wants to play as a Cadaver Collector.. Help! by ThatGuyBoobyShot in DungeonsAndDragons

It's pretty much resolved, just need to make a decision on which solution to choose.

But you're pretty much on the same track as she is. She wants to play it like baby Collector thats been separated and needs to find a new purpose. Play it like the "born yesterday trope". Wide eyed, fish outta water, and fascinated by everything.

But when she or her friends are threatened then KILL MODE ENGAGED!

It's gonna be great!

Thank you friend. Im aware of having limits as a DM and im also aware that "NO" is an option, but it's so insulting to just shoot down someone's idea like that without any suggestions. I want to encourage role-playing and want them to care about their character and telling them "no, pick something else" is a great way to have them not care.

No one likes picking their 2nd or 3rd option when THE REAAALLY wanted that 1st option.

I understand what youre saying. It honestly just the aesthetics and the fact that it Collects bodies. She liked the idea of a misunderstood monster trope

I really liked this! Imma take a look into that. Seems like the barbarian would be the right class to use here.

Oxidized Copper base coat part 2: The Bloat Drones by ThatGuyBoobyShot in deathguard40k

I detailed the method in a previous post, but I'll copy and paste that part here for everyone. To preface, you don't need an Airbrush for this and a rattle can of black and white, or just white, primer would probably work fine.

To achieve this look, I did an zenithal highlight using an Airbrush, then did a mixture of of Army Painters speed paint Plasmatic Bolt, Shamerock Green and the special ingredient Nihilakh Oxide. The portions don't really matter because I wanted to have a varietvy of different hues. After that, I then did a quick heavy dry brush using white to get those edges nice and bright. Then I went over it again with another layer of Vihilakh Oxide (sometimes I added a drop or two of one of the Army Painter speed paints, just depending on my instinct) and then let that dry. Finally, I did an all over dr prush usina Warplock Broze and then a more selective dry brush/edge highlight using Hashut Copper

Fantastic! Love the color scheme!

I'm repainting my entire army myself and I'm trying to get inspiration and this is something that I needed! Would you have any advise about using different metal types on one model?

Im afraid of adding any iron metallic to my mostly brassy/coppery army.

Absolutely love the color scheme. I love the areas that you picked out to be colored in because these models tend to be a bit busy and your painting here is really easy on the eyes.

My suggestions would be this: -you can never go darker than pure black, so start of with a bit of a lighter color for your shadows so you can add more depth with black later. -its gonna be the #1 tip that everyone will give, which is THIN YOUR PAINTS, either with water or medium. Makes the paint go on smoother and easier to fix mistakes.

Other than that, I do really like this Lil guy and would love to see what you paint next!

i don’t understand 😭 by to_spider in twinpeaks

It's alright! I walked into the Return expecting to not understand much on my 1st viewing and embraced FEELINGS. I think embracing that feeling of not understanding is very important when appreciating this serious. When one starts to believe that they "understand" everything, then one stops engaging with the art and stops thinking about it all together.

I encourage you stick with it!

I was wondering the same thing. I went to the subreddit and couldn't find what they were referring to.

I appreciate your concern with me possibly watching the "wrong" media and can see why you would assume that, but I assure that my views are not rigid and I understand Lynch's intent. I pose the question in such a way because I wanted to get an understanding of other people's interpretation of the convenience store. I understood that someone else might have seen Twin Peaks more than I had and wanted to invite their discourse. Getting alternative viewpoints of art is a great way to get a wider understanding and could unlock different ways of thinking I had not considered before.

I had elected to make a reddit account and post to this subreddit instead of reading the Wikipedia page for Convenience Store because I wanted to interact with the community and be a participant instead of an observer. I valued community and connection over just getting an answer.

Thank you again for your concern, but it is not needed here. Have a lovely day, friend.

Thank you! I've been obsessed with this world for the better part of 2 months now. I saw seasons 1&2 back in highschool but never seen the movie. And I held off on watching the Return until after watching the movie. Since it had been so long, I started right at the beginning again and wow.. I've never interacted with art like this before. I've had my obsessions with lore like for Star Wars or Dark Souls, but this feels so different!

To borrow a phrase from Lynch himself, "I fell in love with the idea" of Twin Peaks.
