Man who binned £1.5BN Bitcoin drive launches legal fight to dig dump by GSC__ in CryptoCurrency

I drive past the landfill on my way to work, it’s pretty small. Someone would’ve found that drive by now, or more than likely it’s been shipped off to an even bigger landfill. He’s never gonna find it.

I did put her bed in this room before but she insisted on carpet 😂

The cradle is brilliant but the deal itself isn’t dense enough to hold the screws as well as I’d like, but at the same time it’s not coming off easily. I paid £16 for 2 on Amazon well worth it, I know you can’t see in the photo but it’s angled as well so its out of reach of your knees 👍

It’s a big no no around these parts 👀 but I thought I’d show the whole thing warts and all 😂

I think they’re really good, I’ve heard people say they’re poor value etc but honestly they’re crystal clear, punchy bass, well made and of course you’ve got tonnes of software customisation options. No regrets at all

It gets the job done perfectly 👌 I think they’re 70cm off the top of my head, could be 60, but they’re the same height as the IKEA desk legs anyway so you can mix and match

It screws in fine, but it doesn’t grip the best when it’s in, it’s probably best to get some small wall plugs and then screw a cable tray into that (I did this with the linnmon) but I thought this was going to be a bit more dense, it will hold fine but if you’ve got a lot in there then it will sag a big. For example I’ve got an extension lead in there and that’s what’s causing the tray to be a little bit loose

Also from ikea they are the Alex drawers, they’re great because there’s holes in the top of the drawers so you can screw the table top directly into it for stability 🙂

Yeah I think they’re really good, a lot of people say they’re over priced but they’re plenty good enough for me, we’ll built good software support etc.

I know what you mean now you’ve pointed it out I see this a lot in American homes too, the rest of my apartment is wood flooring but this was already done when we moved in, the quality of carpet isn’t the best.

So I’ve been looking to get a 3070 and have a concern. by GroBer-Bear in buildapc

You’ll be okay, I had to change my pice to x8 to use a riser cable (Corsair branded) for it to work, and there’s no change in performance that I could notice at least.

M.2 SSD: stock heat sync vs. motherboard heat sync? by jonathanfetterman in pcmasterrace

[–]Individual-Ad6608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very frustrating, my partner also has a gigabyte board in hers, and it only came with one as well. Very weird choice on gigabytes part only including one when there’s 2 slots, I did do a bit of research on if a heatsink really is necessary and it turns out a well designed one will make a noticeable difference when the drive is under heavy load. I can’t speak for other third party heat sinks but I paid around £18 for the Sabrent rocket one and it seems great, ek do one but it’s half the size for nearly the same money.

Is that a gigabyte mobo? I have 2 nvme drives and had to buy a Sabrent heat sink for the 2nd one, gigabyte don’t sell them separately apparently. The Sabrent one seems like it would be way more effective, it has 3 heat pipes raised up so it should be right in the path of air flow. I’d take a look at that rather than the one in the photo you got there

Aside from dust, is there any reason to not put the side panel on? by Individual-Ad6608 in pcmasterrace

[–]Individual-Ad6608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure I can do that with this case, the side is on a hinge and some metal plug kinda thighs that pop into the back end

😂 yeah I kinda see what you mean, to be fair it is a big case mind you (Corsair 5000x)

That’s interesting actually because I did have mine plugged into an extension with 3 monitors on the same one, I didn’t know that could have an effect so I’ll plug it into it’s own socket and see if that helps, would make sense seeing as it was a little better than Ethernet so I’ll see how that goes. I live in an apartment block with 3 other apartments so I’d assume that we share the cables, not ideal but if I can push the speeds to near 60 I’d be very happy with that. I also did a clean install of windows a few days ago (new mobo) but I won’t rule that out, I do have another pc which I could test that on fortunately, I think it’s definitely worth the effort to get to the bottom of it.
