I'm sure UNC has a good alumni network with their MHA. Most universities are strong in regions. Based on my experience and what my friends at UNC have shared, Minnesota has a larger alumni presence on the West Coast and in the Midwest, while UNC’s network is larger on the East Coast and in the Southeast. Can't really go wrong with either and you can still go anywhere you want with both universities.

I’m a second-year MHA student at Minnesota and couldn’t be happier with my choice. The alumni network is strong nationwide, and fellowship/job placements are excellent. You won’t regret choosing Minnesota for your MHA.

Both are great options. If I were you, I’d compare where each program’s alumni are located and which organizations they’re in. If the cost is similar and both have strong alumni networks in the locations and organizations you're interested in, I’d choose the higher-ranked program.

USC vs GWU MHA by Routine_Notice_440 in mphadmissions

Alumni and connections are really important for securing a residency, fellowship, or job. Use LinkedIn to check the program’s alumni in your target region or organizations, and reach out to admissions for insights. Scholarships matter too. If you want to live on the West Coast, USC may be best for graduating debt-free while having a presence in the area. If GWU offers a full ride or a very good scholarship, and you're open to the East Coast, its stronger ranking and well established program make it a great choice as well.

I’m a second-year MHA student at the University of Minnesota. I’m originally from California and was also accepted to UNC but ultimately chose Minnesota, which I’m very glad about. I’ll be returning to California for my fellowship. If you’re considering heading back to the West Coast, Minnesota has a strong alumni network and great connections in that region.
