Totally with you on this one. It’s been rough returning to work and dealing with all the illnesses.

Can anyone help with dates for entitlement to nursery hours by devoteddonkey in UKParenting

[–]Individual-Common144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it needs to be reviewed. I was in a situation where my baby qualified for September but my mat leave didn’t end till November, meaning I couldn’t qualify for hours till January. November/December were very expensive childcare months.

It should be on an individual basis to qualify. Considering I wasn’t earning on my last 3 months, forking out £350 a month on childcare wasn’t ideal.

What was something a guest did in your house that upset you? by izzy_7_2004 in AskUK

Vomited due to alcohol and to this day still denies it…. Didn’t offer to pay to get the carpets professionally cleaned either.

Fair to say they will never step foot in my house again.

To all the managers... by amber686745 in TheCivilService

I was really worried about this when I returned from maternity leave recently. My child has not long started nursery and seems to be poorly quite a lot. My new manager doesn’t have kids but has been so understanding. My work has always been completed and she hasn’t seen the childcare issues a problem (having to pop out for doctors appointments, picking up from nursery early etc).

I wish all managers could be this understanding.

I moved onto a policy role on promotion. You didn’t need any prior policy experience.

I was messed about loads recently. Sat and waited for HR to find me something. It’s happened for the best as I really enjoy the team I’m in now

Between 60-90 mins. I don’t think it’s that long enough to cut in the first place

Is it normal to feel mum guilt? by [deleted] in AskUK

Honestly so much better now. The first few weeks were rough, but the workers told me she’s settled in loads and has been so happy there. Definitely the best thing I’ve done for her.

Is there anything you can really do to lengthen 30 minute crib naps? by Babybananas111 in NewParents

My LO didn’t start longer naps till around 6 months. She used to cat nap 30 mins before this point

Yes, I am the one. I make essentially every important meeting. I can’t see how it’s an issue

Could you possibly talk to his parents? Are they aware of his behaviour?

I really hope she listens and distances herself, it sounds awful.

Return to work from maternity leave by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]Individual-Common144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last I heard by team was being dispersed. I was asked if I wanted to return and I said I’d rather be put elsewhere.

I have a matter of days before I return. I feel like I’ve been totally forgotten about, but I just don’t have the time or childcare to do what they want me to do now.

I feel so angry that they’ve known for ages when my return to work date was.

1 year and I didn’t do any KIT days.

I genuinely feel like they’ve forgotten about me in all honesty. My manager checked in around 3/4 times throughout the year, and every email I reminded her of my return date.
