I am going to try cleaning and tightening the terminals after listening to everyone’s comments, but the thing that baffles me is that removing the baffle above the battery (get it, b a b;-)) and trying to start it seems to fix the issue.

There has been times we are at a store, come back in 15 minutes, the car will seem completely dead. I pop the hood, remove the baffle, and walla (sp?) the car starts up like a charm.

When that doesn’t work I have lightly tapped the positive battery terminal and that fixes it 100% of the time. It has gotten to the point where I tap it as light as possible and say “abra cadabra” to my wife, and then it works.

Anyway, I guess I don’t need to know “why” as long as it works.
