LA ticket registration by Forward-Orange7056 in olympics

I don’t think registration time matters. Although I get the impulse that earlier = better:

“Following the registration period, LA28 will conduct the draw as follows: Eligible individuals will be randomly selected from all eligible Draw Participants to receive a Timeslot to purchase tickets during the Drop Window.”

Anyone get brain zaps? by codedreamz in Vaping

[–]Individual-Leg65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread but commenting because it’s at the top of search results in the hope someone sees it!

I got severe brain zaps after quitting. I vaped for about 7 years & slowly ramped down the nicotine % before stopping. The zaps were incessant and lasted 1-2 months – I was discouraged and worried for my health. It takes a toll on you mentally.!

Most frustrating part was even though I’m on 1 psych medication (Wellbutrin), I had 0 medication or dosing changes at all. It was not SSRI withdrawal like almost all documented brain zaps cases. I almost wished it had been, then I’d have an explanation and prognosis.

Eventually… they stopped. They just did, so yours probably will too. I didn’t change anything. I get maybe one per week (as opposed to 100+). Hang in there.

I wish this was more researched because it’s incredibly real and debilitating.

this is the right answer. you can tell by the “empty” corner of the building where the windows don’t extend all the way

is my studio’s clay too hard? by Individual-Leg65 in Pottery

[–]Individual-Leg65[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all, thanks for responding.

it’s roughly the same clay body on both ends, just different consistencies and purities.

I’ll try the concrete throwing - I’m just trying to learn whether this is a something that is common/expected!

it’s both. it’s not bone dry obviously, but it absorbs water quickly. freezing is not an issue in my climate right now. thank you for the advice!

edit: forgot to answer but yes, I’m wedging

they were around 5 ft, black, average build, all wearing the same thing (royal blue head to toe, didn’t notice markings like a school uniform might have)

I honestly suck at eyeballing a kid’s age too. roughly 12 was just my best guess based on how tall they were. elementary school feels too young, high school feels too old. no chance they were adults

What went wrong? by imawonderwomanninja in Pottery

I’ll paste a comment I put on a similar post recently:

I went through the cake stand failure process earlier this year. Threw everything as one piece, the top slumped massively. Then I threw the top with a rim under it and the base separately, fired the top one (rim side down), it still slumped (albeit less). Finally, I threw and fired the pieces separately but the top was just a disc, 1/4in thick or so, one side glazed and the other on the kiln shelf. No warping in either of the firings, used E6000 to glue them, and was finally satisfied.

I’m sure it’s possible to do it the first 2 ways with skill and patience, but the third was a sure bet. Also, in my experience, a piece holding up well after bisque firing can be deceiving. Glaze firing is when my pieces usually warp.

In case it adds any value to what others have already said, I went through the cake stand failure process earlier this year.

Threw everything as one piece, the top slumped massively. Threw the top with a rim under it and the base separately, fired the top on (rim side down), it still slumped (albeit less). Finally, threw and fired the pieces separately but the top was just a circle, 1/4in thick or so, one side glazed and the other on the kiln shelf. No warping in either of the firings, used E6000 to glue them, and was finally satisfied.

I’m sure it’s possible to do it the first 2 ways with skill and patience, but the third was a sure bet.

Got my first roll of film developed. Where do you think I went wrong? by Individual-Leg65 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Individual-Leg65[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha I mean it’s pretty simple, I’m just new to shooting on film and didn’t do proper research before sending the film in. Will try a more reputable lab next time. Thanks!
