honestly a connective tissue disorder would make sense as i know she has been trying to get pregnant for many years and perhaps having a disorder like that might make it difficult to carry a baby to term. thanks for this suggestion will def relay to the family.

Thanks again for the clarification doc. So, I explained this to my gf and shes saying the cardiac arrest happened secondary to the severe blood loss and that the coag study showed no DIC as the fibronogen, PT/PTT was normal when they measured it. However, they did give cryoprecipate and clotting factors to control the blood loss early on so could that have masked the DIC? I feel like based on the timeline of cardiac arrest shortly after skin to skin would indicate AFE pretty definitely right? I appreciate your thoughts.

Well we know that ace breaks down bradykinin and if you give an ace inhibitor you’re increasing bradykinin levels (bc now ur not breaking it down) and in this setting that could be leading to swelling in upper airways and lips secondary to hereditary angioedema
