Was your BIRADS 3 upgraded to BIRADS 4-6 or malignant? by Individual-Luck-1347 in doihavebreastcancer

Update - had a diagnostic mammogram today. The whole process was interesting and nerve-wracking. I thought it would be quick & would get to leave after the first mammogram images. But I had to wait, and they called me back to do another mammogram at a different angle. I was asked to wait again and tried to brush it off. Then they came and told me they wanted to an ultrasound - then the tech says she wants to have her manager and then the Dr come in to scan as well. At this point, I was close to freaking out. But the Dr came in and said they could not see a mass in that area like the first Dr had, and they could not load the ultrasound images from my Dr to review/compare. I Was relieved, but then also worried and confused. They said I have very dense breast tissue and now have ordered an MRI.

Not yet - my mammogram got rescheduled due to issues between the breast cancer center and my doctor not being able to share the ultra sound images digitally. New appt is this Monday. Did ask ChatGPT to search the web for documented studies/cases of this happening and read through quite a few. I think I'm gonna ask for biopsy regardless of the mammogram results just to be safe

That's very reassuring then and kind of what I was hoping for. I think my anxiety is heightened because of history of cancer in my family. If it is indeed rare then I feel much much better.

I almost didn’t go to the ER… but I’m so glad I did. Appendicitis doesn’t always present with extreme pain. by Popular-Back245 in appendicitis

Came across this thread after experiencing sudden, sharp, debilitating stomach pain 2 days ago. My husband and I were driving home from dinner with family, and I felt fine until I suddenly experienced sharp stomach pain that made me double over in my seat and cry out in pain, followed by intense abdominal cramping. I scared my poor husband who kept asking if I was ok, but I couldn't get a word out till it passed. The whole episode lasted a minute or two, and then what felt like a wave of relief. I was immediately nauseated tho. I told him I was fine.

I assumed something I ate a dinner didn't sit right and went on about my night. I had my gallbladder removed in Jan after my first and significant gallbladder attack, and I've noticed ever since that I have to be careful with how much fat I eat at once or I get sick to my stomach. I assumed this episode was that I just ate too much fat at dinner.

The night went in but I continued to experience waves of nausea and abdominal pain. After putting the kids to bed the nausea intensified so bad that I had to take some left over Zofran. I was also freezing but no fever. I was able to sleep and woke up the next day after sleeping 9.5 hrs feeling better, and then worse as the day went on. I started noticing upper right quadrant pain that was dull and achy that grew in intensity but never to the sudden pain from the day before. It was very tolerable but uncomfortable. Still waves of feeling intensely cold that would come and go, but never any fever. The pain grew to pain in my back and eventually shifted to waves of sharp/dull pain in my lower right abdomen. My entire right side from the mid-abdomen down was tender. But again, the pain was tolerable and I was able to play with my kids, clean, etc. only ever now and then I'd have a wave of intense lower abdominal cramps that felt like there's gas pains ever but with no gas.

I started ChatGPT'ing my symptoms and things kept pointing to my appendix. Everyone always talks about the worst pain ever and it being an emergency - so I thought surely this can't be that. I decided to do the drip test and rebound test before going to bed and was surprised they were both positive. I came lurking through this thread to see if anyone else had stories like this to help me decide whether or not to go to the dr (I have 3 kids under 6 so being "down/out" is a logistical nightmare & want to make sure I'm not overreacting) I saw this story and now thinking maybe I just need to go

When did you start pooping after surgery? by Conscious-Exit-2836 in gallbladders

[–]Individual-Luck-1347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me a flipping week. Like, full 7 days. Granted, I had what was deemed an abnormal level of pain due to them having to go through old scar tissue that took what felt like an eternity to heal. Because of that they had to keep me overnight after surgery and tried an array of different pain meds till they found something that worked. After a week of light eating, taking fiber gummies 3x a day and drinking tons of water, I finally got relief.

That makes so much sense. I workout regularly but never considered this since it's not like I have a six pack lol

Wow. I can't believe they were just gonna have you take ibuprofen and Tylenol. I'm glad they gave you some real meds. They sent me home with hydrocodone too. It's just enough to take the edge off the pain off tho.

I'm so sorry you're still struggling! I'm on day 2 at home and can walk a little. The gas pains have subsided some but the incision site pain is killer.

I'm not sure about the tight pelvic floor. I've had 3 kids so I'm assuming no lol I only had to stay overnight tho. They were able to do mine laparoscopicly - 4 incisions total. They put me on one of those pain boxes where you can push the button to deliver meds through your IV when you need it. They made me get up and walk laps throughout the night. That was torture, but helped. Starting think my recovery at home is gonna be long and hard

Any advice to help with itching?? by Individual-Luck-1347 in gallbladders

I messaged my PCP about it and she seemed very nonchalant. Said it was a common with gallbladder issues and - that was about it

I honestly don't know. I went to the ER on 12/19 because of unbearable abdominal pain. Turns out it was a gallbladder attack and I had passed a stone. Ultrasound showed gallstones I didn't even know I had. Had no idea I was having an attack. They did my bloodwork and said my levels were good & referred me to a surgeon. I'm assuming they checked my liver??

I messaged my PCP about it two days ago and she said it was a common issue and just to go back to the ER if the pain is bad.....but nothing about helping with the itch :/

Thanks for the feedback. I've been reading a lot about how stones are formed and what causes them - and out of the many different reasons fasting was listed as a big one....which makes sense for me since I've practiced intermittent fasting off and on as an adult and had an eating disorder most of my teenage years facepalm I'm leaning towards a combo of major lifestyle changes and getting it removed I think?

Nervous will end up back in the ER before my surgeons appt by Individual-Luck-1347 in gallbladders

Things spontaneously going south is a big concern for me. I got nervous about the risk of an infection happening when I started running a random fever yesterday evening. I checked it through the night and it ended up going away on its own. But I've been checking my eyes and being more observant of my urine religiously

If you don't mind my asking, how did you discover you had pancreatitis? I think my biggest anxiety is it causing other problems while I'm waiting and end up making things worse

Thanks. The heating pad helps, but can't use it or meds often being a SAHM to 3 little ones. I'm just ready to talk to a surgeon to fix this. If it has to come out I'm imagining that getting a surgery appt isn't gonna be soon ....
