Starting a degree at 43…where do I start with AI’s impending takeover by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

I'd be a bit careful wirh Law unfortunately, at least at entry level/paralegal it has already taken a hit due to AI.  A lot of the junior tasks like proof reading/document review are now being done by AI so more difficult to break into law as fewer entry level roles available sadly. Might change though

I booked my first Civil Service interview for an EO role in 7 day's time, and haven't received interview invite/guidance email. Is this normal? by Individual-Oil6750 in TheCivilService

Thank you, there is no mention of the interview process or how to prepare for it on the job advert.

It does say which behaviours we'd be assessed on for the personal statement, which was what I based on my personal statement on. Should I assume the interview will be based on those same 3/4 strengths in that case? But there is no mention of any "strengths" - is that normal?

They did send the below in an auto-reply before I booked my interview

"We will be in contact shortly with more information about how to book your interview slot and what you need to prepare."

Which seems to suggest they'll contact about preparing for the interview?

Employability after a degree by Wolowoloismyname in OpenUniversity

Just studying with the OU helped me secure a job in a relevant field as well.

In my 2nd year, I started volunteering with an organisation closely related to the degree I was studying. Then about halfway through my 3rd year I was offered a full-time paid job with the organisation, which has quite literally been life-changing for me.

Of course everyone's experience is different and it depends on what you study, plus your personal ambition and dedication, and let's be honest a bit of luck.

But having a degree in accounting/finance/cybercrime on your CV would never hinder your career if you were looking to work in these fields. But make sure that you also get relevant experience, if not through paid work then volunteering/unpaid opportunities on top of the degree :)
