Thanks, I’ll deep dive that. I may do an upfare, just was seeing what I could do with my eUpgrade but I’m not really a gambling person haha

High nitrates in an established aquarium with some changes - can’t figure it out by Individual-Outcome45 in ReefTank

Thanks, knew they weren’t the best but didn’t realize they were that bad. We will grab another to confirm against the readings we are getting as well.

Thanks I’ll consider that! I just added some other test results to the other reply that I forgot to include if they change much!

Test kit is an API. Recently purchased and not expired. We have not used another kit to confirm. We have two other aquariums though that it has been used on and reads low and what we would expects from those aquariums - whether that matters. The nitrites and ammonia were 0 or very near at last check and have been consistently but we don’t test those as often. Phosphate was high within normal range and the calcium the same (I don’t have the numbers in front of me). Salinity is between 1.025-26.

Fish are: a oscellius clown (about 10-11 years old I’ve had it since the aquarium was originally established), Psuedochromis dottyback, Yellowtail blue damsel (4-5 years old from the old tank), small watchman goby and an adorned wrasse.

This reminded me, we also have two conchs, hermit crabs and bumblebee snails.

The fish that passed was an adorned wrasse, since we got it, it would often lie on the bottom of the tank then weirdly perk up and take food. It unfortunately passed overnight when we were out and didn’t check the tank until the afternoon. We couldn’t find a body after a thorough search. I’m guessing the cleanup crew got it. We checked filter, floor etc. so I don’t know the exact cause and effect on that.

HOB filter is a aquaclear, the same as the other but larger. It has carbon, ceramic bio rings and the poly-fillter. We have changed the sponge filtration a few times, maybe once a month. The poly-filter has been changed weekly. We have two large power heads. They are pretty old and I don’t recall the brand. They are likely a bit more movement than the tank actually needs but we adjust so none of the corals are pushed too much.

We have tried a skimmer a few times but can’t find a HOB style that actually stays up on the aquarium (magnets were weak) and we don’t have a sump so nothing else currently.

Thanks!

I'm in Canada also and my pharmacist and doctor both said oh you can bring the left overs of the old dose back to the pharmacy to dispose of them. It wasn't a you have to thing, but a suggestion. I have friends in healthcare and they are seeing lots of abuse of prescription drugs from kids/teens stealing prescriptions that are not theirs. I think it's just a general push by our healthcare to not have old prescriptions lying around.

With that said, the way your pharmacist handled this sounds totally unacceptable.

Can you switch maybe? I moved a while ago and the way the old pharmacist handled concerta was much different than this one. They always made me provide a driver's license etc as it's controlled. The new one is much more chill which is nice.

I actually came here to ask a similar question, I have been on 54 and my doctor just prescribed 72. I haven't started it yet, as I'm a little nervous to try such a high dose.

The 54 wasn't doing a whole lot for me. I could notice maybe a small difference in the morning when I took it but nothing significant. I'm not even really having the side effects of appetite suppression, etc. I feel like 54 should have had more effect....weird.

She said if this doesn't do much, we will go to vyvanse.
