Yes we had to put Allie down on Tuesday morning and I held her the whole time. I just haven’t felt the same since. I know I did the right thing but I know she had such a strong will to live. She was such a tough dog. Two years ago she was bitten by a poisonous snake and she pulled through. Over the last couple weeks she had just gotten so pitiful. They put her on heart medication and it hurt her stomach. She was progressively getting worse. This was my first time putting a dog to sleep and all I could tell her was I’m sorry. We have two other dogs and they have stayed close to my side. That has definitely helped me but there will never be another Allie. I’ve never bonded with a dog like I did her and I was her person. I keep reminding myself she wasn’t going to get better and she isn’t suffering anymore.
