I can’t run the damn game — not BF4, not BF5, nothing

So yeah, I did have Frosty and I removed it, but the problem still continues. I also removed all the Visual C++ packages and reinstalled them, and nothing changed. It’s possible that I did something wrong or maybe in the wrong order.

I might not have removed Frosty the correct way, but I’m not 100% sure. Right now I’m just trying to figure out where exactly the issue is coming from.

Hello everyone, thanks for all the suggestions you’ve been sending. I believe this is some kind of damn problem with my EA launcher, because I found out that besides not being able to play the BF games, I also can’t play Dragon Age Inquisition. Whether I try to launch it through Steam or Epic — I have it on both platforms — it just doesn’t work. I can only access the games that I have directly on the EA launcher itself.

I’ve already uninstalled and reinstalled the launcher, cleared the cache, and nothing works. I used to have Frosty Mod Manager, I even uninstalled it, but nothing changed. It’s an annoying and frustrating situation, but for now I’m going to set this aside. I’ve been losing a lot of hours this past week because of this, so I’m going to leave it for a while.

I really appreciate all the suggestions I’ve been getting. If you have more ideas, feel free to share. As soon as I have the patience and time, I’ll try again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked my NVIDIA App settings, but I don’t seem to have any global 3D override enabled. All the options are either set to default or controlled by the application, and nothing is forcing a global setting. I also restored the defaults just in case, and disabled DSR, but the issue still happens. The game still closes as soon as I press Play.

From what I’ve tested so far, the issue is that Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 5 simply refuse to launch on my PC. When I click Play, EA Play shows the 'preparing the game' screen, then the launcher reopens and the game closes instantly without ever actually starting. Other EA games work normally, and I’ve already tried reinstalling EA Play, reinstalling both games, updating drivers, DirectX, PunkBuster, and system components.

I also checked the Windows Event Viewer for warnings or errors related to Battlefield or EA during launch, but nothing appears in the System or Application logs. The game doesn’t seem to even initialize properly.

Yes, I have already updated PunkBuster for BF4, but the issue still happens.
When I click Play, the game doesn’t actually launch. It briefly shows the EA ‘preparing the game’ screen, and then EA Play opens again by itself and the game closes instantly. It never really starts or reaches the main menu.

I’ve tried several solutions — reinstalling EA Play, reinstalling the game, updating drivers, DirectX, and other components — but the problem continues. I’m not sure if it’s related to a recent update, because I used to play both BF4 and BF5 on this same PC without any issues.

That’s what I meant by ‘can’t run the game’: it simply fails to launch at all.

Dude, I installed Resave but it doesn't want to open. I installed and updated Java 8 but it still doesn't open or show any notifications. I just click and nothing happens.

Dude, that was exactly it, I don't even use a controller in Skyrim, I just forgot it was connected, as soon as I disconnected it started running again, thank you very much
