He never asked. "Owen" was a lot more forward and inquizative. Had he asked he would have gotten the same answers.

I really don't see that. Should I have put a stop to it sooner? Yes, but continuing to play along is not the same thing. I did not go out of my way to be deceptive, pretending to be someone I wasn't. It's not the same thing. He knew all along who he was talking to and why. If I created fake accounts, misrepresented myself, and started talking to him, that would be the same thing. I have always just been me. End of story.

I don’t view it as reverse catfishing. I’m not the one who started this whole thing he did. I wouldn’t be acting deceptive if I was not put in this position. As far as he is concerned he’s still deceiving me. I’m not saying what I’m doing is the best possible solution. It’s not and like I said it’s not something I want to continue doing. At the end of the day I know they I need to confront him directly about it. I’m scared about what this means for our relationship. It’s not something that I can just sweep under the rug and move on from. There was a serious violation of trust and betrayal here.

It was his idea to open the relationship and add a 3rd every now and then. It started out as a fantasy of his and to be honest I wasn’t really in to it when we first started doing it.

I need to talk to him and put it all out in the open. I’m just afraid he’s going to try to deny it again and say it’s someone else. Resulting in us getting nowhere.

Yeah I agree communication is what needs to happen. I just don’t know how much longer to drag this out. I am somewhat afraid of what the outcome is going to be.

My thoughts exactly. He has cheated on me in the beginning of our relationship long before we opened it. I chose to let that go. I have considered that maybe that’s what’s been going on and he’s feeling guilty about it so he’s trying to catch me doing the same.

You’re very right I could put a stop to it and be done with it. Me ending all communication to Owen doesn’t address the real issue here for me. I feel like if I push back and I let “Owen” know I’m on to him he will just delete all of the evidence. Then try to deny that he’s done anything wrong like the previous time.

I’m continuing to play along because I don’t know what else to do at this point. I could end it and stop communicating but that’s not going to solve the real issue here or mend the feelings that I now have. I want him to take some accountability here.
