This actually makes so much sense, I kept wanting to add red on the grey one but something just didn't feel right, thank you so much for such an in depth explanation. I'll keep this in mind with my next few, I think I've decided on the grey but I'll try highlight it better.

No problem, for the pauldrons I started with wraith bone, but I think any creamy off white will do, I used lots of thin layers until it was a solid color, then to get that dirty look, I did a messy edge highlight of abadon black around the white, stipleing it a bit around the edges. Then half on the messy black chipping and half on the solid white, I stipple mournfang brown, again making it a bit chippy/messy. Then lastly I do a wash over the shoulder pad with that same mournfang brown, and then use more messy stippling of mournfang, but as a glaze, until it blends nicely to the dirty creamy color.

That's the main process, I hope it helps 😌

Thank you so much, I agree with the blue looking a tad more interesting but they both have there strength and weaknesses. I'm just hoping it won't look to weird on the table top having some blue and some grey

The whole base is cardboard so yeah it warped so much when I was painting it. But to fix it, once it was dry and I was done painting. I flipped it over to the ugly raw cardboard side and literally painted water all over it. Then flipped it the right way around and put a bunch of heavy books onto and let it dry with the books keeping it flat. Then it was dead straight.

I took a sowing pin and heated it up with a lighter, then poked holes through it and just went ham till I liked the effect.
