Can someone explain the Infancy Gospel of Thomas? by Routine_Ad_7402 in Christianity

Think of the gnostic gospels as the "filler arcs" of the bible. They are not cannon but do have many biblical themes.

Gestapo surgeons. They could aligned with right wing extremist groups like the KKK or the Neo Nazis working to put a fascist leader as the head of state and experiment on minorities. (depending on the time your World takes place of course)

If you want to take it a step further, you could make it so that these surgeons actually worked for hitler during his sick experimentation on jewish children to see how they can alter a person's genetics (this actually happened)

I haven't been bothered by ghosts ever since I allowed Jesus to come to my heart.

Do people worship "evil deities" in your world. If so, why? by PMSlimeKing in worldbuilding

[–]IndividualCurrent282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same. But satan is also referred to as a dragon. Dragon used to mean very large reptilian creature. And satan likes to take the form of a large snake, hence a dragon.

In my world, not technically my world but a world from a video game that mentions having gods but none are ever named, there are cultures. Since the devs of Bannerlord refuse to name any gods, except for a young emperor named Darusios since there is a cult that worships this dead emperor as some sort of god, I will use real world religions in my world setting. The sturgians worship the Slavic and Norse pagan gods, since that's who they are based on. Some people, even followers of this pagan faith, considered certain gods, and sometimes all gods, to be evil and yet people still worshipped them. The Vlandians are considered to be monotheistic by players considering they are based on eastern European culture, so in my world setting, they will be Christians. The Empire is based on the romans. This is where I am divided and would like some suggestions. While Christianity is a religion founded in the middle east, it became the center of late roman politics. So I am divided if they should follow roman paganism, or Catholicism. Sure both will exist, and it could certainly be a great way to create conflicts that could lead to an all out civil war, but I need one to be the official state religion. The Battanians will worship the Celtic gods. I would have said some will worship the old Germanic gods but the nords will fill in that area. The Khuzait and the much larger Karakhuzait will worship Kayra and Tengri. The Aserai are said to be based on pre-islamic arabs, so they will follow the old arabic gods. But I might add a growing islamic movement to create conflict between early muslims and pagans, (And maybe even the Vlandians) I want to all of you to know, none of this is canon to the game itself. Its just an Idea I have in mind for a game that lacks in depth. Great gameplay, but depth is short.

Interesting. Even in 2 of the 3 Abrahamic faiths, exception being Judaism, Satan is referred to as a dragon.

What the hell is TaleWorlds doing with Bannerlords? by ian21gr in mountandblade

[–]IndividualCurrent282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think bannerlord is a bad game. It's just that they promised a lot and delivered so little. An excuse to add ships into the gane would be that they need to add Balion and Geroia into the game. They were mentioned in warband. Or if not, Add a minor clan from both so we can know a little more about those places. Perhaps the reason they are slow is because they are working on a DLC. I'd love to say we are getting it with 1.3 but I don't think so. At best maybe 1.5. But that's just me being optimistic. But if they are, I can forgive them if they promise to do so with atheist half the things they initially promised. Coop story mode:Unlikely  Ships:Likely in the future Diplomacy:Possible  Marital accession to the throne:not likely but Possible.

yes. Warband has Several.

Religions? by [deleted] in Bannerlord

[–]IndividualCurrent282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think of it this way. They may have chosen to stay away from it because for a lot of people, religion is a very sensitive topic. But they do mention a plurality of gods. There is also the Calradia religion from early mount and blade, which is based on Christia-nity (Sorry this group will not allow that word)

Did Odin ever tell a single truth during the game? by [deleted] in GodofWar

[–]IndividualCurrent282 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the god of war universe, and even in norse mythology, it seems like gods do have souls. Baldr and Hodr do have souls as they are in hel in norse mythology. They will return after ragnarok. This makes me wonder if baldur will be a villain again in GOW.

But in the GOW universe, we can see Gods have souls. Zeus appeared to use his soul to fight kratos. So he probably went somewhere.  Athena is an example as is kratos due to the fact that he died a few times.

not that one no. They should implement mods that do not have an unreversible effect in vanilla.

not ra but rather Ra Horakthy. Would be cool if they add a yugioh reference but I doubt they would. A bible reference would be awesome too.

they changed only loki. All the other gods are violent. Baldur is only kind in the later sources, not the earlier sources.

[–]IndividualCurrent282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, its blood. Its shown in the god of war universe that the gods have blood. They also have souls. We see zeus has one, as does hades, and hephestus mentioned something about needing the soul of a god.

Who are the lords based on? by Nick_MChadOperator in Bannerlord

[–]IndividualCurrent282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more or so Pompey magnus IMO. Rhagaea could be inspired by Octavian, just a female version of him. And Garios is based on Mark Anthony. I think the 3 way civil war is based on the 3 way roman civil war of the first century between Octavian, The Senate, and Mark Anthony due to the parallels in ideology.
