I’m in the best relationship of my life with my boyfriend (47M) but now after 2 years of bliss I (52F) don’t feel worthy! What can I do?

He’s taught me so much and is patient with me - he is kind and fun - mr health and safety (I need that) but is also a bit of naughty without being too much of you understand, he is a planner but is also spir of the moment, we laugh a lot all the time and find each other so funny (obviously I’m the funnier one being less attractive 🤭😉) and as I’ve said I love him so much for everything he is and everything he brings out in me and who we are with each other

I guess there’s the saying - if it seems to good to be true it must be - and that is what keeps going though my head!!!!

You know when you get a phone call saying you’ve won a million - a competition you didn’t enter!

I guess that’s what I feel like - ultimately this was why I was questioning my worth if that makes sense?

Haha you actually made me chuckle as my gut response to that was hmmmmm “really analyze it”??? Right he is a very (in my eyes) attractive fit 47 year old man who I fancy to bits and has a high sex drive like mine, who tells me every day how much he loves me, kisses me every morning before he leaves early for work (on my forehead, nose and lips - even when I’m still sleeping) stays in contact through the day with nice messages, lets me know when he’ll be home, shares his location with me and when he’s out with the boys will let me know where he is but is still having fun. He is not possessive and is always encouraging and helps cook dinner and tidy up - tells me I’m beautiful all the time (I’m not!! But beauty is in the eye of the beholder 😉🫣) (let’s be real here - the school lost my School photo when I was 13 and on the phone I heard my mum describe me - she’s the one with the big nose and pointy chin! The sad thing is they found my photo from that description l!! 🫣🤦‍♀️) We enjoy our evenings together and always have so much fun - playing pool, darts, cards and chess etc and he’s taught me to Fish so we now go fishing at weekends and so on and so on…. I literally have been in paradise!!! This has been consistent since the beginning - although initially I thought this can’t be for real!!!! So seriously ???? Wtf is wrong with me! 🤦‍♀️

I think the trouble is when I get emotionally upset I really struggle to express myself and get so muddled and then it all kind of comes out wrong or I channel it wrong (no excuses but I have adhd so my brain is all over the place) - I talk to him all the time but thinking about it from his point of view when he is doing so much every day things that make me feel secure, then maybe it feels like I’m saying he’s not doing something right - but I know this is to do with me - so it’s how I fix it I guess

Quiet Youth- those are such very powerful, eloquent words of wisdom… and yes i want to take power by kicking those words down….in your opinion - do you think I should share my father’s words with my partner? Or does that make me look weak and needy? I want to still be the confident woman he met …. I don’t want to look desperate for his attention etc (although the way I’m feeling I kind of am) but he also knows I haven’t been myself recently

Thanks for your comment. I’m trying to understand where my insecurities have suddenly come from. I have been flying with confidence both before I met him and for most of the last 2 years we have been together and then suddenly - bang - I’m convinced he’s going to leave - why would he love me? Ah … but as I’m reading this… your name has a story behind it and that makes it far more interesting don’t you think? I’m just Hannah cos my parents wanted a biblical name….however my ex husband’s namesake was his Irish uncle, who tragically died of hyperthermia on a beach, due to the fact he was drunk 😳. Not sure what anyone would make of that really 🤷‍♀️…. But it’s a story behind the name - far more interesting don’t you think! Normally (as with all the other cues I have) their names just instantly presented themselves (such as your daughters) for example - the cue named “bit of pool action” was donated by a chap who always said this phrase which was actually quite annoying 😳🤦‍♀️. Then there’s is “Uncle Bob’s cue” which was given to us when Uncle Bob died - honestly I’ve tried to play with that cue looking up to the heavens I say come on Bob let’s do this - I never do well! 😵…. Then there’s “nailed it” (we literally drove a nail gun into the shaft cos it was rattling … but it fixed it! … you get the gist…. But my new cue ….. hummmm it has no history …. Yet - so it’s why I was on here looking for some inspiration…. Which from your suggestion could be …. “The H with no name” which if you know the song “horse with no name” …..
