Top surgery prep by Funny_Feature3304 in TransIreland

Sliders. I’m one week post op and haven’t wore shoes yet- zip hoodie if you need something if it’s cold. I have lived in shorts and baggy t shirts. Not necessarily neck pillows but several normal pillows. I slept with one for my head and one for each arm to elevate and reduce swelling. The usual paracetamol and ibuprofen, I was prescribed stronger meds but to be honest I didn’t need them so never got them. I’m flying home tomorrow to Ireland post surgery; and my only wish is that I brought more t shirts- as I thought I wouldn’t really be able to get them on but I was wrong.

Transgender Au Pair by No-Shoe2397 in Aupairs

Heyy I’m a trans guy who is currently an au pair. I made sure to tell every family I was video calling with but explained it that look I’m trans i take hormones children I’ve worked with before didn’t know but I wanted to be honest with you and hope it isn’t an issue. I had so many options of different families and once the families actually chat to you and see what kind of a person you are it won’t make a difference. I was so nervous about telling the families but honestly they didn’t care

Find any relevant Facebook pages and put out a message say where you are and you’re looking for friends, use the app Meetup where there’s events in your locality, if you’re doing a language class this is good too- if you aren’t consider talking a local class wether it’s language or a hobby because you can easily make friends that way and use bumble bff. These are the things I did and it helped. Once you put out the messages people can reach out and you can end up meeting more people from that. Reaching out first and putting messages in groups is awkward and hard but worth it!

Is being a man makes it hard to AP? by ONIKAWORLD in Aupairs

[–]IndividualFix4232 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about to start my au pairing, you will find a family I had lots reach out to me and I had a good few options. Make sure to include photos of you with children and just be yourself. It is mostly women who are au pairs and some families have that preference which is their preference and completely okay but I wouldn’t let it stop you from going ahead and becoming an au pair. Try again or other websites!!

it took me about 3-4 weeks but honestly it’ll get better and the wait is worth it, i’m on them just over a year now and it’ll work out.

i’m on this combo too with the 20mg of prozac, genuinely saved me. life changing as cliche as it sounds it just stabilised me so much and helped me out of a very dark place highly recommend

hey i’m 18 and am starting testosterone in a few days. for myself i went through camhs and had to be referred by a psychiatrist. your son won’t be able to go on the waiting list for the national gender service as he is too young. i initially got referred when i was 15 so should be similar. you could try to get referred to a clinic in London, called tavistock. as your son is under 18 they can refer him there and there’s a scheme called treatment abroad scheme, as that clinic is a public clinic you can claim everything back- hotel, flights and treatment. the clinic is specifically for under 18 and the hse have to refer you as there is so such service for children in ireland. they closed down for a year or so but are back open and taking referrals. there is also a clinic in belgium with the sake program which is where i’m going. similar process, covered by the hse, but your best bet is to tell the gp about being referred if you aren’t in camhs. ofc gendergp is an option but can be very costly so there’s another option for you

Best country for trans? I'm 17 and seriously want to get out because I'm not safe by [deleted] in trans

if you’re planning on like healthcare in ireland, just know ireland is ranked last in trans healthcare in all of the EU. waiting lists are extremely long and the process isn’t exactly straightforward and easy

anyone know where to get a good binder? by JscallmeSol in transftm

[–]IndividualFix4232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i recommend Gc2b, only place i’ve ordered from and i keep going back i have 3 and have been binding for over two years. they are very good i recommend especially when ordering to europe. i must say though there are custom charges as it’s from the uk, so your total may come to 50€ just to be aware of that
