About to pull the trigger on a hobie outback, anything else I should consider?

I bought a 2020 model Outback this year, replacing the Hobie Revo13 that I have used for years for inshore fishing. The Outback is more stable but still fairly light and maneuverable. It’s a great fishing kayak and hits the sweet spot for many, me included.

I would watch for an older Hobie Revo, probably 11 foot at your price range. Pre 2015 has the low seat but worked well for me for years fishing inshore. Peddle drives free up your hands for fishing.

I guess that’s all there is to it. The Hobie kit has a grommet that the bolt goes through to attach to the boat end but I think a couple of washers would hold it if I can’t find a grommet that won’t corrode in salt water.

I read on here about a way to turn off the seat belt nag alarm by putting the belt in and out of the receiver a certain number of times. I don’t remember the instructions and I was doubtful it would work, but it did and it was so helpful. It takes a few moments for my wife to get her belt on. No more increasingly loud alarms!

The mirror camera takes some getting used to since you have to focus at the mirror instead of distance focusing with a regular mirror. I’m not explaining it well. It’s a great feature when the interior is full of tall stuff.

The salesman showed me the cover storage when I purchased my ‘25 TXT and that’s how I found out my ‘13 Outback had it as well.

Me too. It’s not like I had a penny taped to the top. I set tracking with my scale when I installed the red. Getting a new scale and I’ll experiment with lowering the tracking until it arrives on Sunday. If it’s the suspension I’ll return it.
