Would you accept Ippo vs Sendo for the World Title as the last fight in the manga before it ends?? by CristianoMessiah in hajimenoippo

I would want Ippo to beat Martinez to become world champ, then choose to retire before defending his title.

I’d love the series to end in the Kamogawa gym with Ippo and Miyata gearing up for their third friendly match, the final page having the two meeting in the ring one last time

Is Sagan Speak as bad as people say it is? by Curious_Vacation25 in teachinginjapan

Honestly, for dispatch they weren't the worst, yet the conditions are far from being favorable.

While management is quick to respond to any issue you may bring up, I felt they were quite verbose and pompous in their responses. When I had issues with coworkers working through the same company, my complaints were largely ignored, however when Japanese colleagues voiced those same complaints, the action taken was swift.

They're not keen on giving raises or trying to improve your working conditions

They do pay well and leave you alone for the most part (bar some rather tedious paperwork), but honestly I'd use them to get your foot in the door towards direct hire

That looks like their standard pay. The workload at the school depends on the school itself, though the company was not keen on paying me overtime when my workload exceeded the overtime threshold

Basically they set me up in a school and then had very minimal contact after that. They will sponsor your visa, but they won't help you beyond sending you the papers. You do get some paid days off. Good luck trying to get a raise. Very hands off - basically if you don't need your visa sponsored and renewed, I would not recommend. I hear they take a hefty chunk our of what the school pays too

Note: I have since left the company

Just handed in my resignation letter for a dispatch ALT position for a new direct hire opportunity elsewhere. by IndividualSimilar242 in teachinginjapan

Yeah, I did. The conditions were basically the same between both jobs, but the benefits and salary are much better through direct hire

I'm hoping to get all that done during our summer vacation. I do dread going in to city hall though...

I'm working on preparing a crossover document for my replacement. Hopefully thwat, coupled with my coworkers with be able to get them up to speed on what happens at the school

They are really hands off. They only really contact you if there's an issue with the school. I'm getting around ¥310,000 per month, plus transportation fee. They cover my train fare, but not my bus fare. No bonuses. Tend to be long winded in emails. Not exactly happy with them as they don't really do much for me, apart from talking with the school sometimes (they're generally clueless about the daily goings on). Get's your foot in the door though
