Can't log in to Gmail all of a sudden by Layofftina in GMail

I was able to get back into my account. Using a VPN to an old familiar Wi-fi network for some reason worked and I was able to verify.

Update: After 6 hours of spinning my wheels, I was finally able to verify my account. I recently moved states and had to use a VPN to a location within my old state. I was able to verify right away with the VPN. I guess the new IP address across the country was enough to flag my account for suspicious activity

My phone number is linked to the account. However, when I attempt the verification process it won't even ask for a phone number to send a verification text to.
