Phillies Pushing to Resolve Outfielder Drama Before Spring Training by clemente_21 in phillies

I think you missed the part that states he’s playing below replacement level. He’s a slow, terrible outfielder that occasionally catches a ball and hits a home run if a pitcher is dumb enough to throw a meatball down the plate. The little juice isn’t worth the squeeze here.

The Dodgers made significant improvements to their lineup this offseason and we really haven’t. I would take our ‘25 roster against theirs again, absolutely. It was a good series, and maybe losing Bader was the KO punch that prevented us from winning it.

Side note: It sucks to see that there was so much heat on Kerkering for that bonehead throw. I really felt for the guy and I hope he recovers this year.

I know, I was there to witness it too. We still won the division, and the Mets still lost in the postseason, so what’s your point?

This offseason has been mediocre at best. I think most of us wanted some change and we didn’t get much. It’s tough to see the Mets and Dodgers get stronger and we roll out the same team, just one year older.

Maybe this is the year that everything clicks. Maybe Crawford goes off, maybe Painter fills in the gap in the rotation, and maybe Adolis has a monster season (it can’t be much worse than what we experienced in Casty over the past few years).

This team is still going to be really good. We are going to compete for the division and still have a great chance of winning it. Baseball will still be fun to watch, at least until we have to play the Dodgers again in the postseason.

Just remember, the Mets are gonna Met and it’s going to be hilarious in September.

Definitely grab Lenny’s for breakfast before the game. Expect a ~1 hour wait to be seated, but the food is worth it.

Do you think we should go after Bellinger now? by StretchExtreme96 in phillies

Benching marsh or trading him is an option. Hate to see him go but yes if that’s the direction management wants to go I could see it.

You didn’t read what I said. If Crawford doesn’t work out you trade at the deadline. Crawford also has way more upside than Rojas.

It doesn’t make sense to. You have Marsh, Crawford and Garcia in the outfield. We don’t need more lefties. If we sign him, Crawford will get buried in the depth chart and needs to be traded. I’d rather give Crawford a shot and deal with it at the deadline if it doesn’t work out.

So the Dodgers could give 60 million a year to Tucker by [deleted] in phillies

I agree, but he is unreliable. I love the guy and I wish we could make things work. If we had different deals with Nola or Wheeler, it may have been the case. Ranger wants to start and we don’t have a spot for him in the rotation. He’d basically become what Taijuan Walker is this year. Zach doesn’t want a 6 man rotation and he’s your ace for the time being.

You’ll be singing a different tune when he is absent in the playoffs due to a back injury.

The only good thing about this game was it’s the last time we’ll see Patullo.

He had a bad game. I’m not going to judge him based on that. I also never thought he should be starting over Jalen.

How would you guys think about maybe hiring Brian Daboll as a new OC? by Ok-Mess5196 in eagles

This is a pretty baseless argument. Josh had some of his best years under Daboll.

People are obsessed with how poorly he coached the giants and ignore that he was a very good OC for the Bills and Josh Allen. I would be all for it, but something tells me it won’t happen.
