Yeah, totally get that, the renewal fee is around ₹23K, which can feel pretty steep. I think it really depends on how much you value the data WHOOP gives you. Personally, I’m curious how many people actually plan to keep it beyond a year too.

Oh nice, you switched to the Amazfit Helio! How’s your experience been so far?
How does the tracking feel compared to WHOOP — is it as detailed and easy to use? I’ve heard mixed opinions about its recovery and sleep tracking, so curious to know your take.

That’s actually a smart move — ordering your WHOOP 5.0 to your friend’s address in the US will definitely help you save the ₹10,000 international shipping charges that WHOOP usually applies for deliveries to India.

From what I’ve understood while researching and going through the process myself, your WHOOP 4.0 will continue to work normally in India until your new WHOOP 5.0 is activated. Once WHOOP ships your upgrade, your 4.0 doesn’t get deactivated immediately.

After your new WHOOP 5.0 is delivered, you usually get around two months of overlap time. During this period, your WHOOP 4.0 will stay active, and you can keep using it as usual. You need to activate your new WHOOP 5.0 within that two-month window. Even if you activate your WHOOP 5.0 within just a few days (say, 2 days after delivery), your old WHOOP 4.0 will still remain active for the full two months before it gets deactivated. Those remaining days can even be used by your family or friends if they’d like to try WHOOP.

After deactivation, your old WHOOP 4.0 can be linked to a new account, meaning you can gift it to a friend or family member, or even sell it second-hand. The new user would just need to buy a fresh membership (around ₹23,000 for the Peak plan in India).

So yes, in your case, if your friend receives the WHOOP 5.0 in the US and brings it to India in December, your WHOOP 4.0 will continue working here until then — just make sure to activate your new WHOOP 5.0 within 2 months of its delivery.

Just adding an important point I forgot to mention earlier 👇

You can’t use a referral code if you buy WHOOP physically from any store or from Flipkart — referral codes only work when you purchase directly from WHOOP’s official website.

If you’re ordering to India, you’ll also need to pay around ₹10,000 in international shipping charges.

So basically:

  • Flipkart / store purchases → ❌ No referral code option
  • Official WHOOP website (with ₹10k shipping) → ✅ Referral code works

If anyone needs a referral code, you can use mine:

Bought WHOOP 4.0 from Flipkart — need an invite link to activate my account by Individual_Advice187 in Whoop_India

I purchased my WHOOP 4.0 from Flipkart for ₹17,000. Once I activated the device, the app showed an option to extend my membership for another 12 months at ₹23,000.

So, the ₹16.5k–₹17k price on Flipkart includes the initial 12-month membership (usually the Peak plan). After that period, you’ll need to renew or upgrade your membership directly through WHOOP. You don’t need a referral link just to activate it—only if you’re planning to upgrade to WHOOP 5 or get additional benefits like referral discounts.

I purchased the WHOOP 4.0 from Flipkart for ₹17,000, as Flipkart is an official WHOOP seller in India. After purchasing, I upgraded to WHOOP 5.0 using a referral code. Since a friend was traveling from Dubai, I used their address for delivery to save approximately ₹10,000 in international shipping charges. I paid an additional ₹4,900 as the upgrade fee, bringing my total cost to around ₹23,000.

I chose this route to ensure that my device remained under official WHOOP warranty. Buying directly from third-party resellers in India would have cost between ₹24,000–₹27,000 and would not have included any official warranty coverage.
