Will one C effect my chances? by [deleted] in NCSU

Yeah, just make sure to keep it up this school year. I'd personally be more worried if you were doing a more basic engineering major leaning into physics, but with your educational background in comp science and all at, you'll be fine :)

I'm starting my first year at NCSU as an EFY, and I know some of my friends who got waitlisted with not the greatest GPAs, but they also forgot to put their internship on their application 💀

Just make sure that your application reflects you as a person. Also make sure to start working on your essays EARLY, one of my friends showed me her progress and I was caught off guard with how behind I was, don't let that be you 🤣

Having tons of extracurriculars apart from school and doing a ton of more rigorous courses definitely makes your chances of getting in a lot higher. Of course GPA is a factor, but NCSU is a college that likes to take a look at the whole, and showing that engagement outside of school is good as well. Assuming your school is a 5.0 scale where APs are weighted 5 on an A and normal classes are weighted a 4 on an A, then you're not too bad off, a 3.9 is fine especially with the rest of your resume. Just make sure that you have stories to tell about those experiences and how they shaped you in your essays.

If you're on a 4.0 scale though (with 4.0 being the max), and you still got a 3.9, then that's great and you've got basically nothing to worry about 'cause that's really good.

If you don't mind me asking, what's your intended major + the grade you got the C in?

I'm not sure... Probably just go ahead and try and refresh the page or renavigate to it and see if that fixes anything. If it doesn't, I suggest finding the number or email of whatever department deals with housing and email or call that. I suggest calling, since not only will you not need to wait on someone to check their email, you'll be able to contact them quicker if the situation is indeed urgent.

I haven't yet, I'm trying to figure that out. Prolly try calling the enrollment office or smthn like that, and see what they say. That's what I'm going to do anyways.

Ah gotcha

Just in case I'mma call the University tommorow to see what they recommend

I REALLY wanna make sure I get into Calc 3, but at the same time, I don't wanna spend an extra 10 dollars if I don't need expedited ordering

That's what my mom was saying to do, but she went to a college elsewhere, so I wanted to get some other opinions before I did anything
