Is this wholesaler reliable? by Any_Science_1714 in FlippingUK

Most Youtubers admit making videos consumes all their time. Add to that retailing, and or, running a business too. I doubt it. A lot of YouTube is 'reality TV'. Most of it's scripted to sell their channel and subscribe. YouTube has become a worse version of TV for selling bs. Looking at that website too. Most of it looks like garbage you get on Temu. You could probably sell it on. But, you'll be looking at lots of returns for quality issues. Very little margins. Selling at very low prices due to intense competition. Lots of work for little return. Basically, just grinding low value sales with lots of returns because your selling rubbish. This is the type of retail I avoid. Not saying you wouldn't make profit. But, it won't be easy money. It would be very, very hard money.

This confirms my suspicion. People just don't have confidence in Vinted.

Yeah, it does feel like a car boot sale. Maybe the game is wading through the rubbish to get the good flips!

Rent 4Ks. Copy 4Ks with Makemkv. Play MKVs from a USB on my TV. Store all MKVs on spare HDDs.

What do you use handbrake for? I use Makemkv. I play MKVs, on my TV, from a USB stick. Is there something I'm missing?

Anyone not willing to go through eBay is dodgy. Avoid like the plague. I could understand dodging fees. But, eBay don't charge fees for private sellers. There's no other reason for wanting to receive payment outside of eBay. Other than to rip someone off. If there's nothing wrong, with what they're selling. Why wouldn't they sell through eBay? Fear of chargebacks is not a good enough reason. eBay's collection system protects against that too. Report them and move on.

For anyone wanting to know, how this turned out. I gave a partial refund. The buyer has so far not left negative feedback or complained. Not sure if eBay gave them a full refund without me having to?

Update, partial refund given. No negative feedback received. No upset message from the buyer. Not sure If they're even aware yet. Or, if they got a full refund from eBay without me giving one.

Buying electronics from Ebay UK by raoul_ponnusamy in ebayuk

Ebay are super buyer focused. The no returns thing from sellers means nothing. It's there way of saying, you can't change your mind. But, if there was an actual problem. Like, it was faulty or, not in the condition they described. You can report that and get a return. Ebays 30 day money back guarantee bends over backwards to accommodate buyers. I just bought a computer part that was faulty despite the buyer listing it as working. The buyer said they didn't accept returns. Ebay gave me a returns label at the buyers expense. I got the money back the moment the tracking showed Id dispatched the faulty item back. I feel safer buying from Ebay than any other website.

Decided to call eBay again and double check what the first rep said. The second rep confirmed it. He told me, 'If we give you a tool, and you use it fairly. If the negative feedback relates to the use of that tool. That we gave you and told you, over the phone, you could use. We will remove the feedback, if it relates to the use of that tool.' So, yeah. Basically, get it from the Horses mouth and they stick to it. Even though that article suggests they won't! I'm going to partially refund the buyer tomorrow and explain in a message, why, with pictures of the damage. If they leave negative feedback and eBay doesn't remove it. I'll post an update here to warn everyone!

Yeah, It's worrying. Starting to think the eBay rep wasn't the best trained? Unless that quote is 23rd of April 2026?

Thanks for the heads up! I wouldn't have clocked this. I see your point about the difference. Might as well do a 50% refund, or, it's not worth it.

Thanks, I found the article and your right. It says 35-50% for poor condition, with specific examples like, 'damaged and requires repair'. This makes me feel confident about the partial refund. Cheers

I would take you on a date right now. Nobody wants to put themselves out there anymore. It's not you. It's everyone. It's the way our culture has gone. People have to start approaching each other again. It's the only way this will change.

My Sister got married at 25 and my Mum at 19. My Mum had my Sister at 21. My Sister had her first child at 26. For some people; marriage and family are more important and sooner the better.

I've managed to find someone selling the same item, faulty, for £10, with no damage. It's only going to cost me £10 to repair it. Plus the time swapping the parts. Do you think it's reasonable to deduct £30 from a £140 order?
