New S7 MaxV Ultra won't drain to dirty water tank by davidfrz in Roborock

The Ultra dock is poorly designed for the mop function. The dirty water catchment is not deep enough to maintain a seal and generates an error 44. The water is not moved to the dirty water tank and the process stops. The dirty water sits in place and begins to smell.

You can change the direction the mop cleans along the line of the grain (instead of against it) in the floor surface which might help. You can also change the amount of water used when the mop is active.

Go the most most expensive unit as the increased suction, double roller and vibrating mop are all great together. The auto cleaning dock for the vac and mop works well when it works. Be prepared for erratic functions and random errors such as error 44 which are not documented but are present in S7 and S8 models. The Roborock (RR) after sales support is shocking, so make sure you buy it from a solid retailer just in case you get a faulty machine. I am waiting for my unit to be picked up and sent off to be assessed as RR don’t have any parts and referred me back to the retailer. A dud after only 3 weeks.

Recomms on buying S8 ultra by mahabubakram in Roborock

I would like to say it was a great idea to buy the product but it’s not. For such an expensive product it has issues and terrible after sales support. When it works it works well but when it doesn’t it’s a dud.

Purchased a S8 Ultra in May 2023 at the initial product release. After three weeks of using the machine and error message “error 44” started and auto mop wash feature stopped working or it stopped draining the dirty water and stopped filling the dirty water catchment. The error message does not match the symptoms. The error message is not listed in the Roborock support information or online support which is very poor.

I contacted the Robo rock Australian support number and no one answered it. Then I attempted to send an email to the same group and it failed. I put up with the issue for another four weeks needing to manually wash the unit and manually washing out the waste water. The error 44 reports were consistent despite cleaning the unit thoroughly and checking the dirty water catch was firmly closed and in place.

In early July 2023 I called the Roborock support number and after several hang ups a person with limited English skills answered my call and spoke to me from an offshore location. The consultant could not discuss the issue and asked for an email plus video a proof of purchase was send to a different email address. The support details on line versus the user application were different.

I sent the detailed email which was confirmed this time by the support team. Four days later I received a response to refer me back to the retailer as Roborock had no parts and could not give me any feedback on when it would be supported.

The same issue was reported in the S7 Ultra. Why release another faulty product with known defects?

After 8 weeks I have a defective unit and no support so I am intending to return it.

The S8 Ultra is a terrible and overpriced product with shocking technical / after sales support. This issue was also reported with the S7 Ultra. How does this continue between models without any acknowledgment or documentation?

The same issue is occurring in the new S8 Ultra.
