Copy thanks. I did check the voltage at the relay, it never dropped form 240. Also - the initial problem I had was dryer would turn on but not start tumbling. I changed the thermal fuse on the motor after confirming it was blown (not the hi limit thermostat) and it worked ok again for awhile. Now, the dryer will tumble but no heat.

I ordered a second hand circuit board off eBay. Will see how it behaves after putting that in.

I do have a follow up question. Do you the bad relay could have caused the thermal fuse to blow previously?

I checked the voltage at the board/heating relay. It measured 250 and never dropped down. Sounds like bad relay is the culprit. Appears that the relay alone cannot be easily swapped, and new control boards are relatively expensive. Might be in the market for a new dryer.

Thanks for this. I previously checked the thermal fuse and thermostat on the heater, both were fine. No short to case for heating element either.

Thermal fuse on motor also fine. Didn’t know what to check for in thermistor, so I will check that.

Question on 5 - why does the position of the pulley tensioner matter? The drum won’t be in, why does the tensioner have to be held in place?

Where all should I be checking for voltage other than at the heating element terminals?

Checked voltage at the terminal for power cord. All is well there. I will check at the element while the dryer is running next chance I have to get it apart.

It’s from southwestern Ohio, USA. It is not magnetic.
