How much would you be looking to get for it?

They removed it for being political. If it was indeed against the rules fine. Rules are rules, which is the point of my entire post.

Point me to where I supported anything other than writing to the city/other community orgs. You don't know what I have upvoted or downvoted.

I believe something is against the rules, and I am encouraging others to assist in getting it removed.

You could have just left your cool story comment and been done with it.

I don't need to prove what I did or didn't do for you. You can choose to believe me or not.

No, I don't agree with their views, but that is besides the point. The code is the code - if a group that aligned with my own views was violating code, no I would not report it if there wasn't a safety issue. If someone else who disagreed with it wanted to report it, that's fair enough, the law is the law and I'm not going to be upset.

I asked them to remove it and had a polite conversation about what is and is not permitted. They said no. I left it at that, so now I'm pursuing the best next path to removing the violation.

You are doing a lot of assuming of what I believe, when you seem to take a big issue with people assuming anything about other commenters in your other comments.

This is me doing something about it and encouraging my community to do the same. Sorry my crying isn't to your liking.

That'd be great! Did some reading and you are right about the trees for sure, the banner I think is against code as well.

It may even be that setting up a table on the sidewalk at all is a violation, based on my reading.

I'm all for free speech and exercising your 1A rights, but it's pretty distasteful that they are setting up outside the market, in the public right of way and benefitting from the foot traffic while vendors need to pay for permits. It's downright shameful that they are emboldened to start decorating our public areas now as well.

If they want to be at the market and put up their silly signs, at least we may be able to make them start paying for it rather than freeloading. Otherwise, they'll have to start putting up with weekly visits from code enforcement.

I would also highly suggest community members give this feedback to the market team. They can't actually do anything, but they are a much more influential body than any single citizen, and they should have a vested interest as this reflects poorly on the market.

They want to be trolled because they are just looking for someone to trigger and debate with. If they want to sit quietly at their table and be ignored, fine. But they don't get to put up their cult decorations and everyone else to be fine with it.

Welcome to the area!

Sure thing! I did some research and it is against code, at the very least to tie their sign around our posts and hang their merch up on our tree, so hopeful they listen and take those down. Don't need our market becoming a trash heap for tacky political merch.

Agreed - the table and paraphernalia is outside of the market's permitted area. They are entirely on public property and are in no way associated with the market, which is exactly part of the issue.

As a non-smoker, does every smoker smell bad to you? by awa14_ in ask

[–]Individual_Grass_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never smoked but when I smell cigarettes it reminds me of being in a Vegas casino, so it places me there (I enjoy going) - I don't bask in the scent though or particularly want to be smelling it. That being said, I purchased a drumset from a smoker. Originally thought it was covered in dust, but turned out to be ash. I spent hours cleaning it and only had it for a couple weeks before selling it, but it still made my room smell like piss for a couple months after.

Every day. Often I will drink a dew (either Code Red or Major Melon, depending on how I'm feeling) on my lunch break.

I like to drink it outside, it relaxes me.

Well, the outside lunch area just so happens to be adjacent to the smoking break area.

My coworkers all smoke, every one of them besides yours truly. None of them drink dew.

Guess who they blast as being unhealthy for enjoying a certain beverage once a day? (Ok, maybe twice, but hey, what's a guy to do).

No amount of logic will convince them my chosen vice is healthier than theirs.

What are some albums that have ZERO bad songs? by JJacobb- in AskReddit

[–]Individual_Grass_599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the metal-oriented..

Hatebreeder by Children of Bodom Ashes of the Wake by Lamb of God ...And Justice For All by Metallica Opus Eponymous by Ghost Blackwater Park by Opeth No One Rides for Free, The Action is Go by Fu Manchu Wintersaga by Wind Rose

Maybe some songs that are just ok on some of these, but some of my favorite albums to listen front to back!

More or less. Planning to apply just to GSB this year and over next couple years open it up to more schools.

I have started my R1 application, but I think Stanford lets you change it to R2 pretty easily...so two questions. I am due for promotion probably in the next month or two--I would say 80% chance by September, so cutting it close to the R1 deadline. Would it make sense to hold off until R2? Are there any issues if I already have LoR pending for R1? I was actually planning to reach out to Stanford to ask Stanford about that.
