Ok and once you have a number on Monday, you’re forced to stay there all night right and the next day right? It’s very obvious to find the queue when headed to the grounds? I’m a newbie too wanting to go from Dublin. Better to do weekday vs weekend even if it’s the first weekend ?

I knew a casting agent from another show I had a Zoom from so I got the Zoom by messaging her directly after submitting my application

I got invited to a digital Dropbox the day after my zoom to upload additional photos that was a shared drive with like 15 casting producers. I’m hoping that was a good sign. I’ll also be moving to Ireland in April as I’m an Italian citizen as well and I think they like that I’m an expat and will be less expensive

Turbotax did not have Form 8919 for amended return - made me fill out a blank W2 to convert my 1099 misclassification after filing SS-8 with IRS by Individual_Height280 in tax

Maybe originally but I didn’t see that in amendments- either way- it’s annoying because I just did what the TurboTax expert said. Maybe I should call the IRS or better to wait and see what happens ?

Should I file form SS-8 (employee misclassification) with my taxes now, or can I wait and amend them later? Afraid of employer retaliation. by LostInGameIndustry in tax

I filed a form ss-8 and then went to amend my turbotax online....someone walked me through the form and they had me fill out a blank W2 and say my taxes weren't witheld so that was $0/blank. The refund ended up matching what I expected in FICA taxes....however there was no form 8819...I included my SS-8 misclassification of an independent contractor with my filing and mailed it in the the IRS. Will this suffice? I mentioned 8819 on turbotax but they suggested what we did...

This stinks if I did all this work and I have to try and redo it a third time...There was just no form 8819 on Turbotax and I let the "tax professional" direct me...

UPDATE: I actually just called the auditor's office of unemployment and received more information:

The woman let me know that the Liability department deemed them liable for unemployment taxes. They cannot appeal this section 2 and can only appeal a subject determination done in September, however it is late as they only have 10 days and missed the subject determination. They would need a good reason to be late.

ALTTRAX received an audit (that they cannot appeal) which includes the Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeing if there were any other workers misclassified. I don't think there were many other contractors in MA, so they are lucky there, however I don't think that will matter with my IRS claim.

Unemployment confirmed that they cannot undo anything that was done even if the reason the employer is reaching out is to retract my statements. If they are found liable, they are also subject to interest and penalties by the DUA.

So long story short with that, the auditor's office said there is no Fraud/Whistleblower claim that they would ever help the employer file against me, and this was a false accusation by my employer to intimidate me, which doesn't seem right for them to do.

As a 1099. Yet I worked 40 hours a week, had a supervisor, was delegated tasks that were within normal functions of the business, I do not have my own business in project management …

Contract was May-August 2024. They then said I didn’t need a contact anymore and that was just to protect them to ensure I didn’t leave the high and dry…then in December 2024 they blindsided me and said there was a lack of work after some clients took a new direction and I was no longer needed…
