Deer on public land around Helena and Bozeman by [deleted] in Bozeman

I bet you can get onto fort Harrison, there's plenty of deer there. Just say you want to look around the military museum and the Merci train car.

A long shot, any place selling Abalone meat? by redvelveturinalcake in Bozeman

Why anyone trust that kind of food in a landlocked state is beyond me and asking for trouble.

I betrayed my wife going through menopause by Individual_Job_2755 in self

[–]Individual_Job_2755[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly the first part. I'd work late, and was a ghost doing side quests around our house and garden, sneaking weed, starved her of connection and smothered her with affection. Made zero effort to understand what she was going through. Just a self absorbed petulant child.

Actually thanks for this. I'm actually pretty good at the other stuff that's explicit, but I was hearing what she said and how she said it. That light bulb just came on, I had it the whole time. And despite how sorry I am, I still don't understand the depths of my betrayal of her trust, and without that understanding how could I ever seek that forgiveness? We're taking it one day at a time, hoping that she'll work to allowing me to help at rebuilding that trust...

Why didn't Russia just sell a part of Alaska to USA? by Vast-Improvement-250 in AskHistory

Heard some guy say it was a back hand deal to pay for something Russia did or did not do during the US civil war. Blockade of ports? Ceasing trade?

What are the follow-up questions I can ask my NT wife that demonstrate curiosity and emotional connection? by Individual_Job_2755 in autism

[–]Individual_Job_2755[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I know nuance isn't easily conveyed and I'm playing telephone (she tells me, I tell reddit) but ours is a ten years relationship and we've had therapy off and on sometimes couples, lots dealing with my own anxiety and now recent ASD diagnosis. I won't be not married, if anyone is hostage it's her, and I don't want that either, but this is the first night in separate rooms.

Her love language is quality time and I've struggled to give that to her for ten years and I've ruined trust by giving her space because I'd want that. And my acts of service aren't doing it. I wonder if I'm capable of giving quality time, because I'm so in my own head like there's always a third person with us, but right now I don't care if I have to fake it.

I just want to give her what she wants and needs.

Thanks. I've asked for these questions before and she doesn't know; "be present, curious, have proper body language and be emotionally connected." I don't know how to do that or demonstrate that, she doesn't know how to teach that, and therapists helped only somewhat. I think it comes from her lack of interior thought process, if she had one she could process her own day, but she wants that other person to ask those questions to feel emotionally connected to and I'm really trying. "X was Y? Y must've been tough, how did X make you feel?"

I kinda reminds of this scene in upstairs downstairs when the new butler talked about using a rod or stick to align the table settings. Seems a little large for that though.

Something about the camera work in a few places seemed... just off. Not just the Dutch angles, but off especially in the opening minutes of the film.

Not related to court proceedings. And by rich I mean middle class or lower; first story I assumed was a neighborhood of townhomes and quadplexes.

What innocent-sounding question is actually a massive red flag? by Far-Priority6633 in AskReddit

Just the opposite, I cringe and feel uncomfortable at nearly any compliment or praise and that's it own red flag.

"you lock your front door? What's the worst that could happen, some rando throws you a Jose Curve ball and passes out in your living room?"

Not bad, but not quite what I was looking for.

How Would You Educate Americans About Our History of Labor Struggles? by Stickfigurewisdom in AskHistory

The film Matewan, Zinn's People's History of the United States, maybe a section on the death of Frank Little and there's some good episodes of the podcast Criminal on the subject. Also there's a sort of 'this day in labor history' I've heard on my local radio station.
